So glad to order this Garmin product. Exactly meets our needs and performs beyond expectations. Would have paid more for more functions, but found they were not necessary. This product has already got me out of several situations of being lost in a nearby town and and also consistently and very accurately figured out the correct drive times to various destinations, despite road conditions. Wonderful functions, beautiful maps, lots of great functions and intuitively easy to use. Wonderful product!

This GPS works great. The announcements by street name is a big plus over previous GPSs. I have used it on several trips now and found it to be quite reliable, easily recalculates routes when needed. It also does a good job of determining your new location (ex: use it to get to airport in point A, fly across country to point B, it will determine that you are in point B now in under 5 minutes). I have used other GPS units that take a very long time, 30 minutes or more to make this determination. I would like to volume to be a little louder or have the speaker in the front. But this is not a big enough problem from my recommending it to others. I would buy the unit again.

Awsome product. It took about 30 mins to really figure this thing out but once I did it really works great. I love that you can bypass construction and it recalculates your route automatically. The bluetooth is awesome for hands free mobile. The website is great for all of your questions like "how do you get the thing to say the street names instead of turn left in 100 ft". Just change the voice and it says the street names. The thing fits right in my front pocket when I'm not in the car. I haven't quite figured out how to navigate on foot that well. I tried it once and it was a little difficult to follow. Overall I am completely satisfied.

I used this in Chicago and it was hopeless. It could not identify where I was and kept "recalculating" even though I was not moving. It kept receiving mixed signals and though I was right in front of my destination, it kept telling me to go round and round. The suction cup that came with the unit did not work and will afix to the windshield. It was a good thing that I had a friend and a map with me on that day. Do not buy!

My parents urged me to get this product because I always took their Garmin... and they bought me the 350 because of the great price and because i did not need all the bells and whistles that the higher models have. Good things: The unit is very compact, and since i live on a college campus and don't need the gps every day, it's easy to slip it in my purse when not in use. The spoken street names is also great- because it reduces the time that i'm actually staring at the unit. There is not very many negative aspects of this product, since i was used to using a higher model- i miss certain things (like being able to switch the keypad to a qwerty version, and the larger screen) but the product is overall a GREAT buy and i'm thrilled that i chose the nuvi.

Every summer we drive between 2500 to 4500 miles on our vacations. This is the first year I had a GPS to help navigate. Honestly, I don't know how we took these trips in the past. This GPS made it so easy to locate our destinations it almost seemed like cheating. Even my kids got into the thing always wanting to find our next restaurant or gas station. I took the time to locate all our stops before we left and saved them into "My Favorites." When we left a destination we deleted it and selected the next. I still took maps, addresses, and phone numbers for a back up but never even looked at them. I also downloaded MP3's to listen to and photos from past vacations to look at. It is small enough to put in your pocket so we even took it hiking in case we got off the trail we could back track to find our car or to have a little music for our picnic lunch. I will never take another vacation without a portable GPS. There are better units out there but for basic navigation, music, and photos at $199 (Amazon) this can't be beat. p.s. Twice it took us to locations where nothing was there, just a vacant lot where Pizza Hut was supposed to be. I don't know if it burned down or closed recently but from time to time you will have an errant search. Not a real big deal unless your driving many miles to get there. We had no trouble finding another place to eat within minutes. Also in big cities (downtown Philadelphia for example) it had a hard time tracking satellites for a bit. Only other problem I noticed was that sometimes you turn it on and it acquires satellites within seconds, other times it takes two or three minutes.

As recommended by friends, the garmin is one of the nicer gps' on the market. It's easy to use and accurate. However, if you plan to use the asian languages for speech be aware that text to speech for announcing the street names in English or the asian language is not supported, "only directions!" Contacted tech support and the claim is that there is no advertised statement that says this feature is supported when asian languages are used for speech. So if you select American English -Jill {TTS} it works great, just no other language. You can make a request to have them implement this which would make this product AWESOME! So please do so!
