Lacoste

I firmly believe in the adage “One good deed deserves another”. Last month, my husband had given me a wonderful surprise. He gifted me an iJoy Recliner to help in alleviating my back pain. I wanted to give him a gift too. The gift had to be something that he wanted dearly but one that he wouldn’t purchase himself. Being a stay at home mother, I didn’t have a lot of disposable cash so it had to be affordable. Hmmm… I wonder which gift could fulfill all these conditions? I spent a lot of time trying to remember our conversations wherein he may have mentioned something he desired. However, I still couldn’t figure out what to surprise him with.

Suddenly, I remembered that he had appreciated the perfume of his friend Jack at a party last week. I knew he would never go and buy a perfume. I called up Christie, Jack’s wife, to find out the name of the perfume. It was Lacoste.

Now that I had decided on the gift, I had a plan in my mind. I arranged for the children to be dropped off at my parent’s house the next weekend. I booked tickets for an action flick that he wanted to see and also reserved a table at his favorite restaurant. Then I proceeded to order the Lacoste Pour Homme Grey Gift Set 3 Pcs. It is, indeed, hard to imagine yesteryear’s tennis player like ‘Big’ Bill Tilden (the first fashion icon of male tennis) with today’s fashionable demi-Gods and Goddesses of Tennis like Andre Agassi, Anna Kournikova or Maria Sharapova. But it is true that there was a time when tennis players had to make do with simple white long sleeved button-up shirts (rolled-up sleeves, of course) and white flannel trousers!

Though the style has undergone a sea change, the original Lacoste design is still there. You can see the famous ‘Lacoste’ logo everywhere – in commercial establishments, schools, offices (where casual wear is allowed) as well as on sports personalities from different disciplines.

Golf shirts are for everyone – every pocket, every taste and every age.
