Become.com is looking for energetic, talented, dedicated individuals to join our engineering team in the Operations group.  The ideal candidate has a drive for excellence and takes ownership of key processes and systems to operate within industry leading performance standards.  It is required that the candidate possess exceptional problem solving skills and have strong understanding of databases (preferably MySQL), SQL and shell scripts on Linux. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for deployment, configuration and monitoring of production systems.

 

Typical duties:

• Monitor distributed production databases and applications and take corrective actions within predetermined time period.
• Handle production process deployment, including configuration and maintenance of database tables and scripts.
• Validate  data – sku data for building product search index and campaign data used in search engine marketing.  Take actions as needed on a daily basis to correct for inaccuracies.
• Provide technical support for engineering and business team, providing reports for web site-traffic and merchant data.

 

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering.

Front End Engineer, Java & Tools

Vice President Engineering

Jr. Product Manager- Contract to Hire

Become.com is building the next generation of online comparison shopping, integrating cutting edge vertical web search capability with product comparison shopping. We are looking for a Contract to Hire Junior Product Manager for an initial 3 month term. The Junior Product Manager contractor will assist the Sr. Product Manager with necessary Product Management duties, which may include, but are not excluded to, preparing cost benefit analysis, analyzing metrics, proposing improvements to current functionality.

The perfect candidate is a strategic thinker who is both extremely analytical and a great problem solver. Experience in web search, comparison shopping engines, and web UI are desirable; passion for internet search and shopping is a must. The Junior Product Manager will work closely with Product Management, as well as the Marketing, Business, and Engineering teams, to effectively monitor the entire product lifecycle.
