Michael Yang
Founder, President, and CEO

Michael Yang

Michael is the Founder, President, and CEO of Become, Inc. and is responsible for the direction, strategy and execution of a global online shopping search engine and marketing services company. He founded Become.com in January 2004 with the goal of developing the next generation shopping search engine, and Become, Inc. has since raised over $37 million in venture capital from TPG, EFF, Transcosmos, and Ron Conway. Prior to this, Michael founded mySimon.com in 1998 and served as its CEO; mySimon raised $30 million in venture capital from Intel, Brentwood, and Sprout and was acquired by CNET for $700 million in 2000.

Prior to mySimon.com, Michael held positions at Xerox Corp., Intergraph Corporation, TeleVideo, Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., and Jazz Multimedia, Inc. Michael has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley, MS degree in Computer Science from Columbia University and MBA degree from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. He has served on the advisory board of the Stanford Institute of Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) at Stanford University as well as on the IT Advisory Council for President George W. Bush. Michael holds a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Greg Haslam
Senior Vice President, US Comparison Shopping

Greg Haslam

Greg heads up Business Development, Sales and Client Service efforts at Become.com. As the person responsible for generating revenue he works closely with key strategic partners Google, Yahoo!, MSN, eBay as well as leading online retailers and their agencies.

Prior to joining Become.com Greg worked at NexTag, a leading comparison shopping site, where he managed the growth of the product shopping categories and merchant partner network including: eBay, Amazon, Target and Wal-Mart. Prior to joining NexTag, Greg led business development and marketing efforts at LiquidPrice.com, a reverse auction web-site, and worked as a consultant and analyst at Asia Pacific Ventures, a venture capital & consulting firm. Greg holds an MBA degree from the Marriott School of Management and a BA in political science from Brigham Young University.

 

David J. Kim
Senior Vice President & GM of Marketing Services

David Kim

David leads Become.com’s Global Marketing Services business. Previously, David was Senior Vice President of Operations and Business Development at Tumri, a venture-backed, next-generation retail-focused online display marketing services firm serving global brands and eTailers such as Yahoo!, Intel, Nike, Lenovo, Sears, Best Buy and HP. Prior to Tumri, David was Vice President & GM of Self Serve products and International at Efficient Frontier, a venture-backed Search Engine Marketing agency with over $700 million of spend under management. Prior to Efficient Frontier, David was GM of Advertiser Web Services (feed-based) products and New Business Development at Overture Services/Yahoo! where David’s primary clients included the largest eTailers, Lead Generation firms, SEMs, web analytic firms and CSEs.

David has a strong entrepreneurial bent having founded and functioned as President & CEO of Enverta (eCandy.com) and Course Hero, both of which relied heavily on SEO and online advertising to become the leading online consumer destinations in their respective categories. David holds a MS in Management and Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Engineering from UC Berkeley.

 

Robin Schönbeck
President and CEO, Become Europe & Pangora

Robin Schönbeck

Robin leads and manages Become’s strategy and business in Europe including Germany, UK, France, and Italy. Previously, Robin was the Managing Director of Pangora GmbH before Become, Inc. acquired the company in October 2009.

Prior to joining Pangora, Robin founded the intertrade internet services GmbH (1999); in 2000 the Bertelsmann AG took a holding in the intertrade internet services GmbH. He has over ten years of experience in white label shopping solutions and business development. Robin is a member of the supervisory board at DCI AG and is active as a business angel, holding shares in several companies. He holds a degree in Business Studies, majoring in information Technology, from the University of Tübingen.

 

Masahiro 'Max' Ueno
President and CEO, Become Japan

Masahiro Ueno

Masahiro is the general manager of Become Japan and is responsible for its day to day operations and growth. He works closely with strategic partners in Japan and oversees business development and sales in his role at Become.com.

Masahiro has over 10 years of senior management experience in the internet industry. Prior to Become Japan, Masahiro was President & CEO of Overture Japan where he lead the company to become the number one SEM company in the Japanese market. He also was the managing director of Trans Cosmos Co. Ltd., where he built and grew their digital marketing service into a 700 employee operation yielding two billion yen in sales; he also acted as president of DoubleClick Japan, where he developed the business model for the Japanese market, took the company public on Nasdaq Japan in 2001 and raised 3.15 billion yen. He graduated from Keio University in Tokyo with a degree in marketing.

 

Jon Glick
Vice President of SEO and GM European Web Properties

Jon Glick

Jon leads Become.com’s global search engine optimization efforts, and is the General Manager of Become’s European web properties. He previously served as VP of Product Search and Comparison Shopping, responsible for the development of Become.com’s comparison shopping service and product search technology.

Prior to joining Become.com, he managed Internet search initiatives for Yahoo! Search, including web crawling, indexing and ranking. A noted authority on search engine design and ranking technology, Jon frequently speaks on search-related issues. He has presented at numerous conferences including SMX, Search Engine Strategies (SES), Digital Life, Web Search University, and ISPcon; he has also presented as a guest lecturer at India’s National Institute of Technology. Glick received his MBA from Harvard Business School, and holds a BS in Computer Aided Mechanical Design from Cornell University.

 

Aron Bohlig
Vice President of Corporate and Business Development

Aron Bohlig

Aron is responsible for creating enterprise value by identifying and executing acquisitions, strategic relationships and organic initiatives for the company. Aron has functional ownership of strategy, finance, planning, acquisitions and integration for Become, Inc. as well as Become UK and Become GmbH from a corporate perspective.

Prior to Become.com, Aron was a Vice President at Credit Suisse’s Internet Investment Banking Practice. As an investment banker at Credit Suisse, Savvian and Investec, Bohlig has completed billions of dollars of financing and M&A transactions with sponsor-backed, private and public companies. Prior to investment banking Aron held director-level business development and product management positions within the Clarify software division of Nortel Networks. Aron is co-author of a book on selling business to business technology products and has been active on the advisory boards of private internet companies and non-profits. Aron holds a MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS from the University of Puget Sound.

 

Peter Tao
Vice President, Lead Generation

Peter Tao

Peter heads up lead generation at Become.com and manages the cross-functional team responsible for expanding the company into new vertical markets. He has over sixteen years of experience in business development, internet marketing, sales management, product development, M&A, and finance.

Prior to Become.com, Peter launched his internet career at InsWeb as the VP of Strategic Partnerships. Since then, he has been the Senior Director of New Ventures and Acquisitions at Visa’s e-commerce division as well as the Director of Business Development at NexTag. His internet expertise spans across online education, mortgage, payments, insurance, and credit card verticals. Additionally, Peter served in a line management role as Vice President at Wells Fargo and executed mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and international joint ventures within the Corporate Strategy and Development group at Bank of America. Peter holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, and received his BS in Finance and Marketing from University of Colorado, Boulder.

 

Ted Monohon
Sr. Director of Accounting & Finance

Ted Monohon

Ted leads the Accounting and Finance areas and brings more than 18 years of financial management experience to Become. Prior to this role, Ted served as Corporate Controller for PaymentOne Corporation where he oversaw the accounting organization that supported the company’s aggressive expansion.

Ted has also held several financial management positions at Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of Hawaii in the Internet banking, Trust & Wealth Management, and Investment areas. Ted started his career as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche in Rochester, New York where he performed financial statement audits and special projects for financial services and retail clients. Ted is a certified public accountant and holds a BA in Accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
