I bought two of these, one for each of my children. It is reliable, you have a choice of how you want the alarm to work - radio, buzzer, or CD, and even which song on the CD you want to wake you up. The numbers are large, which help when you have sleepy eyes. It's been very dependable so far.

I puurchased two of these using pepsi points and could not be any happier. These were taken off the points offerings and I can see why. Pepsi had to ship thousands of these once the word got out the were the best items on the electronics list. If there has to be anything negative about this unit it would be that the internal antena is not real strong and therefor you are limited to certain number of stations. But the sound clarity and the dual alarm option is great. I would say it is worth the cash price and would buy one as a gift or for myself if I had to buy another clock radio.

First, it has an superb dimmer with three settings. I searched a long time to find a clock that didn't light up half my bedroom at night, and the lowest setting on this one is perfect (you can barely see it during the day but it's exactly the right contrast for at night). Add to that nice big numbers, dual alarms, wake to CD/buzzer/radio (by the way, it's SO much nice to wake to a CD than a loud buzz), and very intuitive controls. It's also pretty heavy and seems very well made, unlike other cheaper, lighter ones I've had in the past. If you live somewhere that loses power a lot, then you don't want this alarm clock (no battery backup), but if you have electricity most of the time, then this Sony is an excellent pick.

This is my second clock radio to purchase in this line. It beats all the others hands down. Great illuminated face and nice quality sound and easy to use.

I purchased this clock radio to use mainly as an alarm clock. I prefer to wake up to a CD rather than the buzzing of many alarm clocks and this works perfectly for that. You can set the alarms to use a CD, the radio, or the classic buzzing. There are also two separate alarms. I love the light settings on this radio as well. The snooze button doubles as the light adjustment bar. There is high, low, and then an off position. This activates a blue LED light that lights up all the buttons and works great as a night-light if you ever need on. When the light is in the off position, there is still backlighting for the clock itself, but it's not all that bright. Sound quality is the only negative I've found with this product. Lower end sounds are reproduced poorly by this radio. There is hardly any bass to it. Overall, the volume can get quite loud, but there is still very little bass. Considering I mainly use it as an alarm, this isn't too big of an issue. Overall, this is a great, well-built piece of equipment.

This is a great little clock radio. We have found the controls easy and the sound is good. The adjustable blue light that shines forth gives it a really nice high tech look. This was bought to replace a Sony Dream Machine that lasted for many years. Sony rarely disappoints.

I ordered this as a gift for my dad. It arrived in a timely manner, and the clock seems to be everything it was advertised to be. My dad is quite pleased with it. Everyone likes the blue lighting, and dad, who is very sensitive to light during the sleeping hours, has had no complaints of it being too bright. (The light is adjustable and is plenty dim when turned down, while still being able to see the time displayed.) The sound quality on the CD player/radio is good, too. Kind of makes me want one for myself, but my older Sony Dream Machine Clock-Radio is still working.

Very nice clock radio. I especially like the dual settings for wake up times and the nap setting. The clock allows choice of which media (AM, FM or CD) and volume to wake up to. Others have expressed concern about the clock being too bright at night but I find it OK for sleeping on the lowest illumination setting - and that is easy to change. It does have a lot of buttons and settings and the first few times I set the alarm time/station/volume I had to look up the instructions. Instruction book is clear and easy to use. On the whole, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

This clock radio was a gift for my wife who was pregnant so that she could listen to "hypno birthing" while in bed. We've always had luck with stylish Sony CD players. However, this time we had a few problems. Within 4 days of coming out of the box, its broken. Not only is there a couple lines missing from the display (a '3' looks like three parallel lines) but something is blown on one of the speakers. It sounds like the kind of distortion you get from putting too high of a pre-amp volume into a secondary amp. its all distorted. Unfortunately, since it was a gift, the box got thrown out. Now we're unable to return it. If it were 100% working when it arrived, it would still leave something to be desired, since clock radios sound like .. clock radios. I'd love to have some external speaker ports where I can plug in my much larger extra speakers and get a nice sound.

I purchased this model several weeks back and I can say that I have been pretty pleased with the results, especially because of its price, I actually found it cheaper at a nearby retail store. I wanted a stereo unit with a built in screen to minimize any custom alteration/ modifications and I don't really care for the motorized fold out screens because I hear stories of the flip-out screen motors dying off pretty regularly. The screen is small but it works for me. The stereo provides a clear picture with nice colors, even with action shots the picture remains nice. The only big disadvantage is that if you wanted to watch a movie with subtitles, good luck....not going to happen on that little screen. I was amazed at how many RCA plugs are in the back of the deck. There are two RCA outputs, one RCA input, one video output, one video input, and two-wire subwoofer output...all in all 9 RCA plugs. Quite a bit of plugs that I have seen on higher end/ competition models, not really in a budget model. Even though the unit is labeled as "din-size"...the face of the unit is bigger than a din opening. This was an issue on my Honda Civic but I had to make sure to set the metal sleeve out a bit to compensate for the oversized face. There is an optional Ipod connector that according to the instruction manual, I can control an Ipod from the face and it can send music and video to the screen....I don't have the connector (yet!) but once I get it, I will make sure to update its functionality. Hope this helps

I am not satified with my order at all. We have yet to receive one that even works! We are waiting for the third one to be sent. I can say their customer service is great though. But as for the product...right now not impressed

Bought two of these radios a year ago.... Negatives: 1. No resume function for SD/USB cards. This means that the player always starts from the very first song on your card/drive, regardless of where it had stopped previously. 2. CD/DVD function disables SD/USB drives. Once a CD or DVD is installed the unit does not allow you to select from either USB or SD. Therefore you are forced to remove the CD from the drive before being able to use your SD card. This is an annoyance. 3. Bluetooth speakerphone function unimpressive When the radio is paired to your bluetooth cell phone... calls accepted through the radio is accompanied by a lot of background noise. You must therefore turn the radio volume up significantly...and then risk bursting your ear drums when it reverts to radio...and please note if you are using SD or USB my first comment above kicks in at this point. That is, the music starts over from the first track...but since you may very well be deaf from having turned up the volume significantly to take your phone call, you may not even notice! Positives: Too numerous to mention....but here are a few: 1. Ease of installation (DIY project) 2. The ability to play DVD,USB,SD,CD 3. Bluetooth pairing with cell phone is simple 4. etc.

This is a great product -- when it works. The first one I bought didn't work so I had to return it; the 2nd worked -- for about a month and a half. Now I have to get it fixed or replaced under my extended warranty. So far, I have a 100% failure rate within 2 months for the two boom boxes. While it is working, this sounds good and is easy to operate. Just make sure that you buy a good extended warranty.

We have some MP3 CDs that will not play in some players. A piece of cake with this one. Good sound, size and weight. It is also portable. My wife really likes it.

I had checked at Wal-mart & Big lots for a radio that would utalize a tape plus a disc. The prices were quite a bit higher than Amazon. With the free shipping, it definitely was a savings. The quality & mechanics of this radio are good. Would definitely recommend this product.
