This GPS gave me a quicker route to work that I would never have figured out myself. It recalculates pretty quick. I actually bought this for my fiance, but used it for myself the first day. :) He drives a lot in Atlanta, GA and it has helped him. The only "downfall" is that is seems like it takes you around the world to get you just across town. That can get a little aggravating, but it does get you there. Sometimes quicker than you expected. All in all, I am happy with it.

This unit is easy to use, easy to read, fits in your pocket, and really saves the day when driving through unfamiliar areas. We took ours on a 4,000 mile cross country vacation and it saved the day many times. No more need for paper maps or even trying to read hard to understand directions. Verbal directions are easily understood as actual street names are identified. This GPS System has a lot of addition features for those who like to track total distance, average speed, miles to destination, etc. We liked it so well, we bought a second one for our daughter.

This is a nice unit. However it is too large for a standard vehichle. It blocks your view. Also it does NOT have the elevaton as the older smaller version had. Very easy to see the screen. This unit should only be used for motor homes.

I've had my 7200 for over a year now and it has been put through the works. I'm a state trooper in a rural area. I don't go to work without it now. If I forget it I go back home and get it. Besides having a great screen that is easy to read while driving at high speeds, it will also display the 911 address on a side box. All of the extras like xm radio, audio books, mp3 player just make it that much more useful for those long nights when there aren't so many people out and about. One of the more useful features is the "Where To" feature. The 7200 has a touch screen qwerty keyboard that the letters are big enough because of the larger screen to enter streets, cities, addresses safely. No, it is not recommended this be done while driving in heavy traffic, but sometimes it is necessary because of the nature of police work. One of my favorites is the "Go Home" button. That gives me peace of mind when my wife has taken a trip to the "big city" and it does simply what it says. Part of the initial installation is programming what the user considers their home address. Push the "Go Home" button and that's where you are going. No scrolling through check points, favorites, reference points, or entering addresses. The 7200 comes loaded with the maps installed and unlocked. No more unlocking maps and being limited by memory capacity. I recently spent a stint on border security that involved 13 hours a day in a patrol car, patrolling some very remote areas. If I hadn't of had my 7200 to keep me mentally stimulated during those long days it would've been more mind numbing than it was. As it were I learned about the Battle of Okinawa in Bill Sloan's excellent book "The Ultimate Battle" and "Washington's Crossing" by David Hackett Fischer. All of that being said, the Garmin 7200 is not a MAP! It is loaded with an unbelievable amount of information and its routing capability is first class. The Garmin 7200 doesn't, however, know where bad neighborhoods are, it doesn't work if your car's electrical system quits, and it doesn't change flat tires. Electronic equipment is making our lives easier and safer, but it isn't the end all. Anybody who takes to the roads for any trip needs to plan ahead. All of the checking tires, oil, gas gauge, fluid levels still need to be done. There are some bad people in this world and they look for people who put themselves in bad spots and are easily taken advantage of. One of my favorite learning points as a trooper was stopping late at night with what appeared at first glance to be a blonde female looking under the hood of what appeared to be a disabled vehicle. When I stopped and turned on my takedown lights the blonde woman stood and turned into a 6 foot something outlaw motorcycle member with felony warrants. I strayed from the topic, but I meant well. Technology will never take the place of good common sense. I don't think they sell that at Amazon. The only feature the 7200 doesn't have that I wish it did is NEXRAD weather radar. The weather feature of the 7200 uses weather symbols that are similar to those seen on weather forecasts from the 1960's.

Pros: Great text to spaech. Love the AAA tour book. Traffic reports are great. Comes with software to up load POI's that you designate.
Cons: Doesn't always recognize the voice activation command and once went into voice activation mode for no reason. Maybe the radio. Sometime tells me that it cannot compute a route basd on my preferences but changing preferences has no effect. This happened after I added the traffic option. As of a few days ago Magellan doesn't have any info on their web site about updates, accessories, or other products related toi thia model. I wanted an additional cradel and power cord and they are not available on the web site.

This is a very handy little gadget. I have had many uses for it already. The amopunt of information contained in this little unit is amazing! Well worth the money.

I bought my Magellan Maestro 4050 about six months ago on Amazon.com. Sofar I am pleased with all the features and its functioning, but still a bit dissatisfied when I was holding my GPS 4050 at point A and tried to get direction from point B to point C. Magellan Maestro does not have that route. So when you have your GPS 4050 in your hand at point A, you can not make a map direction from point B to point C like you can make through Yahoo map or Google map. I don't know why GPS makers do not think about that?????? Another drawback that sometimes the Bluetooth froze and the touch screen doesnot respond. I have to push a reset on side to make it work.

My other cars all had intergrated GPS. This is my first "portable". I did not like the mounting hardware supplied with unit, as I did not want it stuck to the windshield. The attached Road condition receiver made a bulky package, but the extra info while traveling made it worthwhile. I love the voice command. After business is complete in down town, "magellam" "go Home" is all that is needed to route me back home!

This is email I received after asking about updating MapTraxx SD card. Sounds like present GPS352 units are out-of-date and will never up-to-date. ----------- Uniden America Corp. has a development team focused on bringing new, innovative GPS products to the market. Recently we began developing software internally and plan to provide our own map updates for future GPS products. The GPS product you have does not have any map updates available and there are no scheduled updates for the future on that particular model. Uniden GPS units with updated maps are targeted to be available to consumers in 2009. --------------------

This is the 4th Uniden GPS-352 that I have purchased - and it was purchased for a friend of mine who had seen the operation of one of the others which I own. I like the product, compared to others on the market, due to it's increased capability to Zoom in and out with the switch buttons on the face - as opposed to requiring a touch of the screen (which it also has) which can be difficult when the vehicle is in motion. Improvements could be made in the mounting of the unit, the mounting arm is rather bulky and window mounting is illegal in California.

The item itself is very nice and helpful tool, however for a young person of 75 years, it is more than I need. I liked the product, but not who I purchased it from, as they would not allow me to return it because I found that it was too complicated for me when I opened the packaging.
