Bedding color and wall color

From serving as a means of self-expression to one of the leading influences in mood, a good color scheme is an essential component to any bedroom, and wall space is the ultimate source of color in a room. Here are some tips to choose the hue that’s right for you:

Choose your mood: Feeling cozy? Deep, warm hues of browns, reds, oranges and creams are good choices. Bright whites, yellows and other light-reflecting colors create a sunny feel. Cool greens and blues offer a modern aesthetic and tranquil mood, while purples and rosy hues give a romantic vibe.
Start with the bedspread: The bed acts as the focal point of the bedroom, and what you choose for the bed will ultimately affect the rest of the room.
Accent: Take the main anchor color from your bed and accent from there. Don’t stick to one single color, but keep in mind that complimentary colors or colors in the same shade will help maintain a cohesive flow that’s more aesthetically appealing than choosing several contrasting colors.
Wall color: Keep with your room’s aesthetic and the mood you want to create. Pick a wall color that compliments the color of your bedding, or pick a shade within the same color scheme that will offset the bed nicely. You’ll also have to take into consideration the color of your flooring.
