How to decorate a canopy bed?
When searching for the right material to decorate your canopy bed there are several canopy bedding options to choose from.
The most popular canopy bedding is usually made of sheer or lace material so light can show through the sides of the canopy. You can add more dimension to the sheer fabrics by adding a base of satin or print material to show through. Also, when using lace or sheer canopy bedding, you can add a pop of color with small details like ribbon or decorative fabric to tie the curtains, or small throw pillows to place on top of the bed.
Another great trick for canopy bedding is to use curtains to decorate the structure of the canopy. Instead of slipping the curtains through a curtain rod, you can string them through the frames of the canopy to hang down on the side of the bed. You’ll have a huge variety to choose from and can even layer or mix and match different curtains to fit your bedroom style.
You can also decorate the canopy bed by draping a large afghan blanket across the top of the canopy so it hangs down the sides. With the afghan blanket light can still show through the fabric and it will add some country charm to the room if lace seems too feminine.
