I have to add to the list of people loving the seat. My daughter loves riding in it as well. There are some issues that you will need to be aware of but I don't know of any alternatives on the market for the size for anyone trying to fit 3 kids in the backseat of a car. I honestly think I could fit three of these in my car. This fits in my seat labeled as a small adult size. My daughter is very comfortable riding in this and loves her seat. Cons: *Crotch strap can be a snug fit, could be longer. Solution: Buy the Radian car seat and buy the accessory for the longer buckle (its only 1/4 inch longer) *Tightening the harness straps requires coordination, this is a tight fit so you will probably need to pull hard, not an issue for us but other reviews mention this. It is definately more dificult than other seats but not an issue. *Sleeping Child Head. While this seat is awesome and does come with a toddler and infant head pillow, it doesn't help the droopy sleep head issue. *Installation can me a pain, this seat is supposed compatable with only 60% of the cars on the market. You may need to have it professionally installed. Here's a link to check the car seat with your car, my 2007 Nissan Versa doesn't have information for this car seat. http://www.carseatdata.org/search?seatBrand=Sunshine+Kids&seatName=select&seatType=select&installationMethod=select&carMake=select&carModel=select&carYear=select&rowsPerPage=20&getData=Get+Data *Seat maybe backordered, before placing an order you may want to send a quick email to confirm availability. We had ours on order for a month before we got it, if you can flexible with colors you'll be okay. *Free shipping isn't hard to find for these seats, but return shipping will be expensive if this seat doesn't work for you.

Love the print. The latch system is good. Easily folds for carrying with you on airplanes. Downside is the straps tend to twist when you are placing child in the seat and when adjusted in the shortest position, have difficulty tightening. Plenty of room for heavier children.

I have a 2003 Mini Cooper which I adore. I did a lot of research to find the right car seat that would work for my daughter AND fit in the car. I found it to be easy to install and comfortable for a 4 1/2 year old who is constantly falling asleep in the car. She loves it - and I do too!

I bought this seat because it was one of the few that would fit in the narrow rear seat of a BMW convertible. And yes, I did also buy it because of Recaro's racing history. But in the end, it did not live up to the reputation of the name. The materials, fit and finish are mediocre. The materials feel cheap and you can see the backing at the seam edges. The real problem comes with the fit and finish of the plastic. Because of a large seam between the bottom and the back, the yoke (the piece of metal connecting the two belts with the center strap) gets stuck. It can give you the impression that the belts are tight, but they are not. This is very dangerous in case of an accident. The other problem is the A-lock (the center strap lock). Due to loose tolerances, the center strap gets stuck between the lock and the edge of the lock. This prevents the lock from releasing when you need to loosen the belts. Now you have to struggle to release the belts trying not to hit the poor kid stuck in the seat. Plus that the center strap gets fraid.

My car was too small for the alpha omega that my son was quickly outgrowing (because of my compact car...). He just didn't fit with the chunky base under the car seat, so I looked into new car seats for him with a flatter base. He was fitted by a fireman and put into this seat. He is 4 years old, 40 inches tall and 36 lbs. I am keeping him in the harness as long as possible, because he knows how to get out of the lap belt on a booster. The fireman said that I should keep him in the 5 pt. harness at LEAST until he hits 40 lbs. I LOVE this seat. The safety features are amazing and as soon as my other child is old enough, I'll buy Recaro again! The only thing is the very first time I put him in the seat, he begged for his old seat and I thought...oh no! Well that only lasted less that a week. Plus when he sleeps he is upright and his head is nicely supported, he is NOT slouched over like in the regular booster that we have. I HIGHLY recommend this seat, plus getting it in and out is a breeze with the latch this comes with. This seat is the best!

Sturdy, Sturdy, Sturdy. What else can I say? The latch system is easy to install and easy to take off. No problems getting it setup in a small or large car. Easy to tighten so that the carseat doesn't move around. All you have to do is pull the straps. Only problem I had was that you can't take it on the plane. It's too heavy so they say you can't take it on.

I did research on this product and was excited to see it on sale for 203.00. Received the produce 3 days early. Only set back is it is forward facing only. I did not read this in description. It only stated 18lb. I am very disappointed as it was a well designed car seat that had great reviews. Parents just need to be aware of positioning limitations.

I would not buy this again for the following reasons. 1 - the Side Impact Protection is a loose piece of foam covered only by the headrest fabric (separate from the cover on the rest of the seat). It can be bumped out of position quite easily. Imagine putting a squirmy baby into a rear-facing carseat in a compact car and you can see that it is easy for this piece to get caught on your elbow or grabbed by the child. In the first 3 days of use, I cracked the foam in 2 places. There is no reinforcement to prevent this from happening. 2 - the concept of adjusting the strap height with a simple knob is a good one, but watch out if you have an older child who likes turning knobs and wheels.... I'm afraid my toddler will one day hurt his little brother by cranking down on that knob too far. Overall, it is a very safe car seat, comfortable for the child, and a breeze to install. But that piece of foam could use some reinforcement. I can't imagine that I'm the only one with this problem.

We got this carseat for my son after he outgrew his infant carrier at around 8 months. I really like this carseat. After wrestling with the Graco Snugride to get straps adjusted or to do the LATCH system, I really appreciate this seat. It's very easy to adjust strap height by turning a knob. The seat is able to sit up straight or recline a little (we have it reclining). The LATCH system for Britax is great. It's much more like a regular seatbelt fastener in that you push a little orange button to release the catch. None of that fishing around, torturing your fingers trying to get the fastener on and off the anchor. Also, I feel that this seat is pretty easy to use with non-LATCH cars. This model came out shortly before we started looking for a new carseat and I'm glad it did. I have a thin, tallish toddler and he fits very well into this. I like the narrower profile so that it doesn't take up so much room in the car, and it's easier to carry around. We got it on the airplane, forward-facing, very easily. I am especially happy to have the side impact protection and hope that we never need to find out how invaluable it is. It's easy to get my son in and out of this seat and he always seems comfortable in it. The only complaint that I can think of is that it seems very impractical to me that Britax would make a carseat cover that's supposed to be handwashed (we have the Huntington pattern). Like several other reviewers, my son vomited in the car and his seat at one point and I was irritated to have to hand wash and line dry it. It sounds like other people have washed it in the machine and found it to hold up. I've washed a few of the little parts in the machine on a gentle cycle and they were fine, but I'm leary of messing it up and having to fork over $70 for a new cover. That's the only reason I didn't give the seat 5 stars. All in all I'm really happy with this purchase and even as a frugal person, I feel that this was the best choice I could have made.

After searching and searching for the right fit, I am very happy I purchased the Britax Diplomat. I first purchased the Britax Boulevard, but it was way too big for my car (Infiniti G35). So, our super girly Boulevard is now in my husband's truck. The Diplomat has all the positive features of the Boulevard plus the push button release found on the other Britax car seats. The Diplomat is the best combination of the Britax convertible car seats! I definitely recommend the Diplomat. I could only find the Onyx color online.

I know this is a top-of-the-line car seat, and it is very plush and comfy and easy to adjust and all that, but the seat pads are not machine washable. Our baby threw up all over the seat the very first time we used it and then again a week later. It is very inconvenient to have a baby product that is not machine washable. Had I known this, I would have just got the Graco.

My 3.5 month old son grew too long for his infant car seat. We purchased this one to accommodate his growth and he no longer cries when getting in his seat. It's small enough not to crowd up all the space in our small honda civic hybrid and is easy to install. The seat belt adjuster in the front is a handy feature.

This is my first review on Amazon, because I felt compelled to share my thoughts on this product. I am a first time mom and did a lot of research on car seats. This one seemed to get good marks . The positives: yes, its very cute, relatively light, installs fairly easily. However, as some reviewers pointed it does not adjust in the front, you have to mess with the metal buckles in the back. Does not seem like a big deal to you? Trust me, it will when you have a screaming child to deal with. VERY USER UNFRIENDLY! ON top of it, the fabric is awful , she sweats so bad in it, even with AC on high. Granted I have not tried other car seats, maybe they use similar fabric, because of flammability requirements. I just know this one needs to be redesigned. But to each his own, I guess, a lot of people love it. For first time parents, I urge you to try it out at WAl Mart or Target first, before ordering it online, based on good reviews. I would not buy it again, thats for sure.

I registered for and received this car seat in the Chelsea pattern when my triplets were born. We had two hand-me-downs (both Graco SnugRide seats, one from a friend which was 6 months old and one our oldest daughter used as a baby which was 18 months old) and only needed one new seat. I liked the cute pink pattern of this seat and assumed that the mechanics and quality were as good as the one I was used to using with my oldest. Assuming is where I went wrong. The quality of this seat went way down in the 18 months since I bought my original: the handle is now open in the back where it used to be solid; the grippy area on the handle is 1/3 the size it used to be; the handle up and down operation is rough, not fluid or easy. The mechanical ease of use took a complete 180 too: the shoulder belt straps move independently of each other and the mechanism used to secure the straps are a very difficult tooth type that you can't just tug to adjust - they need to be pulled loose on one side of the buckle and then tightened on the other side, similar to a bra strap; there is no longer a single strap in the front to pull the shoulder straps tight - it has to be done in the back of the seat where you have to mess around with that stupid metal buckle again... every time you take your baby out or put her back in and need to adjust the straps! Bottom line: The overall feel of this seat is cheap. Things are hard enough with a newborn without having to do extra work to make them safe. This seat is a burden and I would never recommend it.

    3. Star FullStar FullStar FullStar FullStar Empty Posted: Jun 25 2008

I've only used the car seat for 2 1/2 weeks, but so far I like it! It is by far the cutest one I could find, and I love the easily accessible tightening strap. The only things I don't love are: it seems like the seat base is able to move forward and back too much; the fabric is really stiff; and there is no elastic strap to keep the fabric cover in place like most other models have. It's not a problem yet but I'm sure it will be. In short, I like the seat overall and even with the negatives, I would still probably have bought it.

We love this car seat. Our baby was 4.5 lbs when she left the hospital and this seat worked perfectly. We passed the heart rate and breathing tests with flying colors. We later added a JJ Cole infant support system, but took it out when she reached 8 lbs. She is 4 months now and loves to sleep in this. My friends say it's because the fabric on this particular model is soft and breathable. Enjoy this if you can find it!
