Excellent XM Radio. The Commander MT enables you to install XM in your vehicle and still achieve a factory look. Very easy to install - it comes with everything except wire connectors. This is an excellent addition to my vehicle.

Nicely made, good features. Integrated it into my dash on my Excursion. Takes a while to hunt for signal a sometimes. Now that Sirius bought out XM I'm wondering how that will affect my service.

The Belkin and Amazon product descriptions were written before the Delphi XpressRC came to market, and have not been updated. I took a chance buying this combination, but the result is glorious! Clear full sound, and a bright color display displaying program details. The Belkin "boombox" is up to the company's usual high quality standards. I'm impressed with the sensitivity of the built-in antenna. I live in Baltimore City where there is a repeater XM signal. The Belkin boombox picks up everywhere inside my house, usually showing 3, and occasionally 2, bars. Walking around on City streets, and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, it's almost always 3 bars. With batteries installed, the unit is nicely balanced; the big handle makes it easy to carry.

On the positive side, this unit has surprisingly nice sound for a small boombox, not Bose, but richer than I expected. The chief problem is that mine lasted under three months. Belkin is replacing it, but I have to pay shipping to return the defective unit. This radio has had a very easy life - it sits next to my desk. I took it home a couple times for the weekend, but found I seldom used it. So it's on when I am at work, off and unplugged the rest of the time. After ten weeks it stopped picking up any signal (the XM radio still works fine). The controls on the Belkin are clunky, but functional. There is a remote, but I generally opened the unit to change stations, it was just easier. The antenna strength feature is nice, but if you need help deciding which way to face the radio to get a signal, you're in a poor spot and it's probably not worth the frustration. If it had lasted longer I'd have given it three or four stars, but if yours does the same thing just outside of warranty, it's going to be a problem. Extended warranties are generally a rip-off, but for this unit I wish I'd gotten one, both for ease of return now, and because I'm afraid the replacement won't last, either. Update - it cost fifteen dollars to send back the defective one, but the new one only took a week to arrive, so replacement was prompt.

The audio system is awesome. I purchased it for my husband to take to his fishing trip in Mexico. He was the only person on the fishing boat that had music, the signal was clear the entire trip. He takes it with him everywhere he goes. It is water proof and compact enough to take in a suitcase. I would definetely purchase another one on these systems.

I've been an XM fan for almost two years now, starting with a Delphi unit hooked up to my home stereo, which was later transferred to a Belkin boombox for bedroom use after I received a Polk Isonic standalone unit for Christmas to use in our living room. Both units are used daily without problems. The only thing remaining was to have some sort of portable unit I might use on my daily walks. I purchased a Pioneer Inno (thru Amazon) two or three weeks ago and I'm absolutely delighted with it. First, a caveat...You will find reception a bit "quirky" in that the signal will drop in and out at various times without a clear reason for it. I live in a metropolitan area, and there are terrestrial repeaters about, so if anything my experience should be better than someone who lives in less populated areas, I believe. Don't purchase this expecting the signal to be as accessible as any local radio station. I attribute this to the nature of satellite radio, not to any shortcoming of the Inno. It was frustrating at first, but I got the hang of routing my walking path in such a way that the signal was usually available (avoiding tree-lined sidewalks, for example). Having said that, I believe the Inno is on a par with the Ipod as an example of superb consumer technology. The unit has a wonderfully solid "feel" and sound that is every bit as good as I hoped it would be. The ability to record XM channels or songs and listen back anytime you want is marvelous. I cannot tell from the sound that I am listening to a recording and not a "live" XM signal. Recording my favorite music channel for a couple hours every night while the unit is charging allows me to play it back anytime I wish through the day no matter where I'm located (in that respect, it IS possible to listen to XM around the house any time you wish, as long as you have it recorded in advance--and this is a piece of cake. Just set it to record Channel xx every night from 2 to 5 AM and you're all set). The screen interface is beautiful, and the outstanding documentation allows you to use the unit in all its functions immediately once it is fully charged. I wish Polk Isonic had spent some time studying the Pioneer documentation to learn how to write a lucid, easy-to-follow user manual. It is as good as any I've seen for any consumer electronic device. I spent another $22 or so for a Belkin armband holder for the unit, and I'm glad I did. It happens that I don't strap it to my arm very often because I'm always changing channels and moving the unit around for better reception, but the armband serves as a very convenient handle for the unit. Congratulations to Pioneer for engineering a wonderfully solid unit that does everything it should. If I had to give up two of my XM receivers and keep just one, the Inno would be the one I'd keep.

The Inno is my first satellite radio. I bought it mainly as a means of getting to listen to new music without having to go hunt for it, or listen to endless adverts. The fact that the Inno is portable was a major factor in deciding on this particular unit. Pros - its reasonably well made (not as nicely finished as an iPod, but not cheap feeling either). It comes with a reasonable set of earbuds. The XM channel selection is superb! Cons - the door to the battery compartment is held on with some really flimsy tabs, I wouldn't like to change battery often since these will likely break off after a few uses. The sound quality of XM radio is not as good as I thought it would be (this is not a comment on this radio, rather its a comment on all satellite radios - the talk shows sound like AM, the music sounds like some low bps MP3s. All in all the sound is quite murky and sibilant compared to an iPod and decent earphones. That said, its good enough for casual listening while outdoors. I'm just glad I didn't pay $990 to get XM fitted as an option in my car!). The Inno does what I need it to do. What it doesn't do is play well as a 'live' XM radio outdoors. Trees and buildings (or even your arm) frequently get in the way of the signal, and the sound dies. Making it too annoying to use. Since nothing I listen to is time sensitive its fine to record big chunks of music and listen to that instead. Its painless to record many hours of music once a week, or even less frequently, and that works for days. Indoors the unit works well with the antenna that comes included. Even with trees in the way it gets a strong signal, even when the antenna is quite far from the window. Bottom line. In the future, when the technology advances and the bitrate improves, XM radio will be awesome. Currently its good, provided you are prepared to focus on the content and not the sound quality. The Inno is excellent for using when you are biking, running or walking, provided you are in an area with excellent signal and no trees, or you don't mind listening to recorded material. The Inno was a good buy, and one that I'm thoroughly enjoying using. But, stil a few years off being perfect. I'm guessing I'll be replacing the Inno when something better comes along in a couple of years time. Oh, since people mention this in other reviews - I've turned all the available recording space to XM use, and don't intend using it for storing my mp3s. It would be too annoying ot listen to high bitrate mp3s and then switch back to XM radio quality. Nor do I intend to use it in the car for live radio, I'm sticking to pre-recorded stuff.

I've had this 2 months and I have had no problems. As billed. Crystal clear recordings and XM radio, when there is a signal. Don't fool yourself and think this will work indoors and on the move without an antena hooked to it, but on the beach or on the back porch with a cool one it works fine. Much better than an IPOD! Fair battery life.

Purchased to use with my eclipse. Checked to be sure it would work before purchasing. Was told "Yes, just down load the software from our site." Well the true site you need is not listed in the instructions shipped with the item. Once I found the right place, I downloaded the program needed to download & install the "software you need for the Eclipse". I then installed it. Then I tried to dl the software for the eclipse. Now I get a message that IT (the software) is not available for the eclipse!!! I call and got "It will be but I have no itea when the software will be ready, sorry." Then I logged to the Audiovox CUST SERV site See my logged below.. Customer (Wade Wellard) 10/25/2007 01:50 PM When will the download I need be available. I laid out the cash for your product under the notion that it would work, it does not. I also paid for my MX radio subscription. Audiovox sold me what amounted to unusable goods without informing me or your vendors. I hope Audiovox will do something for me before I have to search other avenues for a solution. Wade W. I purchased this a week ago as a birthday present for my boyfriend. He loves it, and so do I. It arrived in a timely manner, in intact packaging. I had a friend who installs car audio hook this up for me, and it only took the knowledgeable person about 20 minutes to do so. The unit itself is not TERRIBLY sturdy/durable looking, and is plastic, but really, what are you going to be doing with it that it needs to be more sturdy than that? The sound quality is great in the car - of course, this depends on your car's speaker system, but there is no hiss or feedback. With the instruction manual, it was easy to navigate using this thing, and get the hang of operation/programming. All in all, a great product for 200 channels of commercial-free radio. I reccommend it, and the birthday boy LOVED it.

It does what it says it does and it gets pretty good reception but it is a real hassle setting this thing up. I don't like having the external setup. I love XM as built in to my Audi. But this setup is less than ideal.

    3. Star FullStar FullStar FullStar FullStar Empty Posted: Aug 28 2008

THis unit is a bit clunky. A lot of wires for the function. So here is my two cents of a review. First, the round button is somewhat easy do use if you like doing things backwards. The button advances options by being rotated like a dial. This is ok when you get the hang of the display. The main display is oriented like a semi-circle. The knob just doesn't flow right like you think it would to select options. Second, the user guide DOES NOT tell you that in order NOT to have static on the radio, you have to use both the secure connect and the antenna. When you look at the guide it say consult the secure connect manual... and there isn't one in the box. In order for the unit to work you have to plug in the antenna and then plug the secure connect cable into the fat mid section of the antenna cord. Basically create a "T" connection. Then clip the secure connect cable to your antenna outside of your car. The antenna can be attached anywhere outside your car (magnet). Select a station full of static first. Then sync the xm with that station using the options on the screen. NOTE; THE ICON IN THE BOOK IS DIFFERENT ON THE MAIN MENU FOR THE SYNC OPTION. PICK THE ONE THAT LOOKS LIKE A CAR ON THE MIDDLE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEMI-CIRCLE (see above). Also when you call in to activate your unit, you must be in a clear area not obstructed by anything (trees, buildings, bridges...). I sat in an open parking lot to get my signal. It takes 15 minutes to have all the stuff download. If it does not work call back and an automated operator can send you the signal. ALSO, the box says that you will pay $9.99 if you register online and $14.99 if you register by phone. BUT, when you get online they try to tell you that it is a flat rate of $14. I called in to complain and they offered me $5 off and I was like nah I'll just send it back and they of course gave me the registration for $9.99. Hope this helps. It took me two days to figure out all this by myself but I love my unit and I love the option of having my own selections for radio and not this garbage we hear on the regular ratio. Not a bad buy. Watch the price, I got my unit for $30 so either try to search for the unit and see if there is another Amazon channel that offers this unit cheaper. WPHEW!!

Built a stereo with this and the four channel version with two p5's and was pretty pleased. Not as loud as I had hoped but worked well for rock music and the like. My favorite parts were it's size and it's low amperage use, I had an alternator problem on my Focus from my last amp.

This amplifier does very well fitting into tight spaces. I've never had any issues with it getting too hot. I did remove the shroud, it just looked too flashy. I never thought I'd buy a sony made car audio product, but this one doesnt disappoint. There is one thing that should be noted, in case someone doesnt take the time to completely read the specifications for this amplifier.... there is no front low pass crossover, only one for the rear channels. This means that it would be difficult to bridge the front and rear channels together to push two subwoofers.
