Excellent product, in fact I just ordered another. Hard to come by because this particular unit has been discontinued. I needed the two antenna inputs that it has, as well as the two tuners NTSC and ATSC. Unit works great with exceptional picture quality. Thank You

This is the third one of these I have purchased (also bought several of the 19 inch version). The picture is fantastic, the set up for either off air, or cable, is superior to competitors, and the look clean. One terrific unit.

I purchased this tv to use with my new xbox 360.I never intended to use it as a television. After reading the 1 star review about what a lousy picture it had i had a lot of concerns.I made the mistake of trying it out in the bed room as a tv before hooking it up to the xbox in the study.I just wanted to see what kind of picture it had.BIG MISTAKE after my wife got a load of that picture no way was she letting it go anywhere.I have a 27in LCD and a 57in CRT both hooked up to Dish network and thy both have a beautifull picture.I hooked this one up to a regular antenna and it has as good or better picture than thy have.True the analoge reception is not that great but for ever analoge channel there is a Digital channel and thy are wonderfull. The person that gave it the 1 star might have just got a bad set or didn't have it hooked up right. The only thing I can say bad is that now I have to sit on the foot bench in the bedroom to play my games instead of a easy chair in the study.

I got my new Olevia flat panel last month and over all it is a good bang for the buck. The HD picture is excellent even on Comcast HD which is compressed. The sound is poor, however just like the others who wrote a review this is easy to fix just add external amplified speakers problem solved. One thing these sets are shipped in showroom mode. For those of you who just want to set up this set without reading the instructions here is a bit of advice. READ THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE FULL MENU. I would rate this set a solid 6 to 7 on a scale of 10. It is a good set for the bedroom or the dormroom.

After less than a year my TV lost sound and picture. It should have still been under warranty, but Syntax (the manufacturer) was of absolutely no help. Don't let the price of this TV entice you like it did me. Pay a little more and get a TV that will last longer.

    3. Star FullStar EmptyStar EmptyStar EmptyStar Empty Posted: May 8 2008

Don't buy a Syntax Olevia! I bought one and it died almost to the day the warranty went out. Customer service said I would have to pay to ship it back and pay the parts and labor to fix it and that would cost over half of the TV's cost. They wouldn't offer to help with anything and they said they lost my registration card, the same one they used to call me with to ask me how I liked it a week after I bought the TV. So all I can do is to post this to every blog I can to try to inform others.

I bought this product on sale at Circuit City in Oct. '07. I used it to play games and watch movies. I recently moved in to my apartment and when I unplugged my Xbox and hooked up my cable box it fried the HD RGB component inputs. Between parts and labor it would be almost exactly the same price as what I got the TV for. Do not buy this product.

After about four months of use, I like this TV/DVD player and it fits my needs well with the built-in functionality. This is a very flexible device and I use it in my home office (which is also a bedroom), which is my only work location. For a majority of a work day it is used as a 2nd computer monitor, which comes in very handy with the multiple windows I tend to need open. The size of the monitor at 23" eases the stain. After work I use it as a TV or DVD player and find viewing is good from approx. 10 feet or so. My daughter sometimes guests out on weekends and gets a lot of use out of it. I would give it five stars but the remote is sometimes recalcitrant in activating channels or volume changes, detracting from a seamless operation.

It almost looks like a monitor. The resolution is not what I expected its not bad but it didnt meet my expectation. It did not come with any cables except the power cord. It is easy to operate.

I bought this television to replace a 42" Samsung plasma TV that the picture went out on after less than two years. I didn't have the extended warranty, and was told it would cost approximately $600-$1000 to repair. After talking to my local dealer, who sells Toshibas, he convinced me to go with the Toshiba brand. As everyone knows the screens for all plasmas and LCD's are made in only a couple of factories. The dealer told me that the screens are graded either number 1,2, or 3. He told me that Sony and Toshiba are the only manufacturers to use only number 1 graded screens, reducing the chance for dead pixels and other flaws. He also told me that Sony and Toshiba still manufacture their sets in Japan, not China. This dealer told me that since a lot of people bring their TV sets in for repair,he has seen a major reliability problem with the big-screen televisions from other manufacturers. He said he has been selling Toshiba for several years now, and claims that not a single Toshiba has been brought back into him for repair. So with this information, I decided to go with the Toshiba brand. Also, with a lesson hard learned,I bought the extended warranty on my new Toshiba. The big-screen televisions are too expensive to replace every couple of years, and the extended warranty is an insurance policy against such re-occurring major expenses. Now as far as the television goes, at the time I bought my plasma TV, plasma televisions were much brighter and sharper than the LCD models, but things have changed. The picture on my Toshiba LCD is excellent. And as far as brightness goes the new LCDs are brighter than the old plasmas. Also if you are trying to decide between a plasma and a LCD,you may have read somewhere about the screen coatings on the plasmas that cause reflections, this is definitely true. On my plasma, if there was any light at all coming in to the windows in front of the television, the picture was difficult to see. This is not a problem with my LCD. You may also have heard about image burn in on the plasma screens, this also is true. I have a Sony Play Station3 that would leave a static image on the screen and if I left it on for too long, I definitely would notice a ghost image on the screen. Another thing nice with the Toshiba is that all of the rear inputs are to the side of the television and not in the middle. On some televisions with the rear inputs in the center of the television if you try to use a wall mount some of the mount brackets may interfere with the input connections. So in summary I say, buy Toshiba, go with LCD, and get the extended warrenty for peace of mind.
