Samsung LNT4065F 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV I bought this TV for myself and then recommended it to my Mother. Now we are both enjoying vivid, bright, and colorful LCD High Definition TV. The TV is gorgeous on the stand. The sound is rich. One of the great surprises was that without a high definition cable converter box the TV finds and displays the available High Definition channels on its own. Yes the picture would be better if I did have it connected to a digital cable box but for no additional fee I can view High definition TV because of the built in converter in the TV. I have given it 4 stars as my other high definition CRT tv still beats the LCD TV in clarity and detail.

We have been very pleased with this TV. The picture and the sound are excellent. I would recommend this TV to a friend.

I originally bought the tv a year ago. I wanted to give it a full year before I could put my honest opinion on here and I must say WOW. ALL of the HD channels look amazing, xbox 360 is a wow, blu ray holy cow. Everything is so vivid and crisp. Not sure what the price is now but if you are looking for a 1080p TV that is proven you should buy this one. Raf

This TV is so clear, sounds good, and over all looks sharp in design. I am very pleased with my purchase. Seeing movies and shows like never before. If I was you, I would buy this TV from warehousedeals.com.

I was a bit skeptical on my first purchase of a television from Amazon. But received great service and a fantastic product. A little trouble with the delivery company but quickly sorted and delivered on the agreed date including set-up! I was happy with the product and purchased a second television within 3 months.

This TV is just a pleasure to look at. The screen looks great even in a brightly lit room and shows no glare at all from reflections on-screen. I only have two very minor complaints. First, the remote isn't great. It's not very intuitive to use I find, and although it is supposed to work with the Samsung AnyNet DVD player I got with it (DVD-1080P8), it is terrible for that (it doesn't even have a "menu" button for the DVD play menu). So I just use two remotes instead of one. Not a big deal. My second complaint is even more minor. There are many inputs in the back of the set (which is excellent), but if you need to change the input source channel, you often have to scroll through several options to find the correct one. It would be handy if it could autodetect what is plugged in and what is providing a signal, and skip those channels that are not powered up. Overall, a very good set and it looks GREAT.

First off, I will need to connect the TV to my aerial to see how it works with true HD. With my ordinary Comcast box, it looks just fine. Its not blurry or anything like that. Some folks reported a problem with sound, but that was not a problem for me. The manufacturer may have fixed that problem. I had the TV delivered in the Oakland area and the delivery was uncomplicated and arrived a little earlier than I thought it would. The only downside is that "Dirty Jobs" is a lot grosser to watch, because now I can *really* see the poo in detail that I had not enjoyed (cough) before.

I've had this TV for three months and am totally delighted with it. The other positive reviews reiterate the great picture and ease of use. If you're in the market for a HDTV, take a look at them in a local store. Every TV has it's pros and cons and none are perfect. If picture in picture (PIP) is a must have for you, then this TV may not be the one you want. It's picture is stunning, the best I've seen at an affordable price. For a great Blu-ray experience, watch Planet Earth...WOW, you'll be amazed. I mostly watch with an over the air antenna and get great local HDTV pictures with this TV. Just read the other reviews here, they really sum things up nicely. Oh yeah, I never thought I'd buy a TV from Amazon, but gave it a chance and glad I did.

Having had this tv for several months now, I have to say we are very pleased with it. For the high def channels carried by our cable company, the ones that have their act together and broadcast a good signal come out amazing on this tv. Having watched hd channels for a while now it really is true what others say, not all hd sources are created the same. The touch of color on this set is hardly noticeable. So if your worried about that feature clashing with your decor don't worry about it. We also have not seen the power down issues reported in other reviews. Must have been something isolated to earlier models. When we received the tv, there was a sticker on the box that made note of the tv having a firmware upgrade. So the power down issue was probably addressed by that. The remote is fine. As others have noted the scroll wheel on the remote doesn't react quickly so it can be a bit frustrating. But there are other keys on the remote that perform the same functions. Plus after buying the TV from Amazon the price dropped twice within 30 days of purchase. A quick call to Amazon Customer Service and I was refunded the difference. So it pays to keep an eye on the price after purchase, at least for 30 days while the price guarantee is in effect. All in all a good choice for your money!

Overall great TV for the price. Shipping was a breeze. Keep in mind though that this TV DOES have glare. Quite a bit. It just like a normal CRT TV. If you have direct sun light you will see the reflection. The TV has a nice swivel stand, so during the day you can tilt the TV to avoid the glare. The trade off of course is that the picture is really good. If you don't want glare than go with sony's W series. Its a few hundred dollors more with similar features except 10 bit color (which you won't notice. Don't believe the marketing hype on that feature.).

I purchased an off brand HD TV I think called Dish, it was associated with Dish Network, was an big regular tube TV about 4 years ago. It was very heavy had an ok picture but went out in 3 months. Finally got a refund for it. Next came a 52" JVC rear projection, lamp went out in 1 year, first one under warranty, then a loose connection caused 3 service calls and finally a full replacement value, This one was a good TV nice Picture and had it for 3 Years before it had to be replaced. During those 3 years we bought a Panasonic 50" Plasma for the bedroom, This also had a nice picture but used a lot of electricity and ran extremely HOT apparently that's common on plasma, during the summer it was like a heater in the room, very nasty, thank god it only lasted about 6 months and it blew up. after numerous attempts to fix it we got replacement value on it also. That's when we got the Sharp 46" LCD about 2 years ago now. First one had developed a line threw the picture after about 3 months. Contacted Sharp and they ask for an E-mail w/pic of the screen. They immediately shipped us another TV and picked up the old one, very easy, Loved this TV has been the best picture quality by far and has lasted the longest with no other problems. Runs a lot cooler than the plasma and light weight. HD picture quality is also excellent.Don't do any gaming or connecting to computer etc. so cant comment on that, but would recommend this Sharp as well as LCD over plasma and rear projection, as to this model versus newer of course I cant say EXCEPT The JVC I mentioned earlier was just replaced with a 52" Sony LCD KDL52W4100 and I would have given my Sharp 5 stars till I got this TV It is truly AWSOME also $1000. more than this one, but even regular digital picture is as good as the Sharps HD. I am still very happy with the Sharp, but with all the problems over all the different models Ive owned My BEST recommendation is to BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!! ITS WORTH IT!!!

Purchased this LCD from SharpDirect 3 weeks ago, its been broken for 2 weeks now and counting. Sharp does not want to replace it, they want to fix it in my home. The service technician does not work for Sharp. They are from some local third party. I own both a philips and a panasonic HD TVs that have had no issues. I have spent the past two weeks trying to sort this out with Sharp, but all I have received has been either incorrect information or no call backs. Spend your money elsewhere.

Get it. Sharp delivers on the goods with this one. The picture quality is amazing, the speakers are as good as it gets built in, and the inputs are plentiful and easy to work with. I bet the newer Sharp Aquos model with upgraded features and the added HDMI input would also be sweet if the price comparison is close enough.

I have had this tv for about 4 months now and I must say that I absolutely love it. The matte screen completely eliminates any glare or reflections and provides a great HD picture. The thing I have actually been impressed with is the quality of the SD picture. there is very little pixelation and I actually think its better on this than on my old SDTV. Overall a great buy and great performance.

If you have tons of money to spend, of course get the best in the market - Sony Bravia series. If not, this TV costs a lot less, but has almost as good image quality as those. I got a 32" Aquos first, then I fell in love with the TV. I realized it was too small. Instead of returning it, I bought another one - this one. It was an excellent decision. Now it sits elegantly in my living room and provides us entertainment every night. I use it to watch HD channels (free ones...if you have an antenna, you can receive many HD channels) and I use it to watch foreign TV shows (I have a slingbox hooked up to the TV in another country). Of course, you need to connect a pc to the TV...... Overall, I love the TV and my family LOVE it too!

Posted: Feb 25 2008
Keep in mind this tv is a replacement for a 13 year old 20" panasonic tv/vcr. This Aquos was a replacement for the first one I ordered. I ordered a 32" one but it arrived with a cracked screen (thank you UPS!). I contacted techforless and they said they didnt have the 32" model in stock anymore, so they cut me a deal with this one, which is from the same series. It took over a week to receive the new tv, so if you're in a hurry keep that in mind when getting an order through eagle service. I ended up paying about $900 for it. I have this tv in my bedroom, so it's a little too big. set up was very easy and the picture quality is superb. After hooking up my xbox 360, I couldnt get any sound to come out. This was fixed by purchasing an HDMI cable. Gaming is awesome on this set along with watching dvds. I dont have a Bluray player yet, so I cant comment on how good that will look.

I was delighted when I received my new 42" Aquos. Everything I expected and more. Unfortunately after about a week it started to experience the banding that I have read about in other reviews. I called sharp, they asked me to send about 5 or 6 digital pictures of the line and give them a couple of day to review them. Three days later I called them back and spoke with a representative who informed me tje TV was going to be exchanged and upgrade it to the LC-42D64U from the LC-42D62U that I had ordered. Because of the holiday season the shipping took a little longer than I would have liked but received my new TV in about two weeks. I was very impressed that they were so helpful and that my TV was replaced. I would not hesitate buying anything else from them.

I've had this television since November of last year and I can honestly say it's the best investment for anyone who is looking for a Hi-Def tv and doesn't know where to start. I'm going to break down the unit so novice buyers can be aware of what to expect from this television Panel (Television or Display): This is the bread and butter of this unit. Before you turn it on you will marvel at the unit's ultra slim design and the piano black finish. A glorious picture quality with blacks levels that rival the most expensive units. The vibrant colors jump and the details are nothing short of amazing. I'd also recommend using a Home Theater calibration disc to get the best picture that suits you. If you are viewing this in SD then you are doing this unit and yourself a dis-service. This unit begs to be hooked up to a high definition source. Any gaming system, Blu-Ray, HD Satellite or HD Cable. Make an investment and you'll understand then. Oh yes replace the remote ASAP. As a side note, I've had HD Cable and HD Satellite. The banding issues do exist but are so minute that it really wasn't a drawback. It also seem less apparent on the HD Satellite then the HD Cable this was using the same HDMI port and cable, while watching the same programs. Speakers: The speakers on this television are just plan weak. But given the size of the unit what can you expect. I'd highly recommend to anyone if you feasible then by all means bypass the speakers and get yourself a surround sound system. After all is said and done this is the unit to beat for 1080p LCD's.

I loved my 46" Aquos LC45D6xU. Doesn't matter when the TOSLINK audio out stopped working a month after I set it up. Sound is still decent even without digital out. Piano black case enhances the crisp viewing pleasure. But be warned! Buy the extended warranty! Mine broke for no apparent reason less than 2 years from purchase (my kids were just watching their cartoons, then it blanked out). And since it's over the standard 1 year parts and labor, Sharp will do little to alleviate the upcoming repair costs. Google this: power and opc lights blinking. Apparently, this is the more common 'error code' prevalent on this unit, after the problem shows (no display suddenly). It may require 2 boards to be replaced, to the tune of upwards of $600 (just for parts). Most complaints I've seen tells of lemon tvs. Those which are defective within the first few days or weeks of operation. But as I said, mine broke down before 2 years. I thought such "quality" tv would last longer than the repayment period (24 months 0% financing at BestBuy) I've bought it with. Never did I expect it to break down so SOON, so unreasonably random. Picture quality? very nice. Reliability? I don't think so. Sharp assistance? mediocre at best. Think you don't need that $300 - $500 EXTENDED WARRANTY? THINK AGAIN! Hey but that's just me. Good luck and hope your unit won't show its hidden ailments after the warranty expires. Or rather, break down while still under warranty.

I don't really care about HDTV. My sad state of TV watching includes a bunch of crap on Noggin, PBS and Cartoon Network. I rarely get to watch grown up TV. I will concede that the picture is super. It is almost freaky how news anchors seem to be sitting in your living room. Who wanted to know how many freckles the weather girl has? Not me, for sure. But the Olympics were awful crisp and movies are over the top. The sounds is taking a bit to get used to. Not sure why, but it seems that commercials are 50 times louder than the programming. If I cared all that much, I would fix it, I suppose. It was well worth the money, as far as my husband is concerned.

You just can't go wrong with this tv. Best bang for the buck in 2008. Thing looks awesome mounted on the wall. Super thin, nice minimal design... a no brainer if I had the choice to make again.

Got it a couple of weeks ago, so far very happy with it as well as Amazon's service. While I expected a good picture, the most pleasant surprise has been how "smart" the user interface is and how it can sense what things are plugged in and where...
