In my never ending quest for a durable coffee maker, I found the FMF5. It had everything that I was looking for with the exception of a brew strength selector. A week into use, the water level indicator developed an air bubble that prevented me from getting an accurate level reading. Then a little over a year and a half, the digital display went crazy (it would constantly cycle between program mode and the time display). My wife was afraid it was going to catch on fire. It finally died today halfway through a brew cycle. I really did not get my money's worth on this one. Even after registering this coffee maker on the KRUPS website for the 2 year warranty, according to their customer service "without my original sales receipt, it's not covered". Thank You Very Much KRUPS.

We have had this Krups model for about a year, and suddenly we get the warning message that there is no water in the reservoir, when there really is! Unplugging or resetting will not change the error. It will not let us make coffee because it says there is "no water". Also, it will not let you make coffee if the coffeemaker needs to be descaled, which takes well over an hour.

I got this coffee maker as a gift and honestly, although all the little gripes on here are true, I love this little coffee maker. Mostly I just love the thermal carafe, which is apparently becoming a rarity (I noticed the new Krups model isn't released yet?) Yes, the fill window sometimes gets bubbles, but I fill the machine with a glass juice carafe that holds a liter, so I know how much coffee I'm getting. How accurate are the "cup" measurements on coffee makers anyhow now that mugs are so huge? And yes the little swing door feels cheap. But if these are my biggest complaints about the machine that delivers my coffee every day (and makes darn good coffee too)...I think I'm in pretty good shape.
