In between finishing up the mixes for his upcoming “Dark Twisted Fantasy” album and making a twitter account, Kanye West has been busy putting up his renovated Los Angeles home on the market earlier this year. Before another member of the rich and famous brings a new look to this fabulous pad, let’s take a look at how he lived the good life.

Kanye’s master bathroom is part copious extravagance and part minimalism. Cream-colored travertine limestone lines the walls and floors, with a champagne-colored contemporary chandelier hanging above the tub. The tub is topped off with a 250-gallon aquarium full of expensive fish, providing the focus of color in the room. With elements of luxury and whimsy, the aquarium provides the bather with aquatic companions for a relaxing bath. A pale white shade is pulled over and above the bathtub for a heavenly state of mind.

Here in the dining room, Kanye plays up the gorgeous Los Angeles View with a simple monochromatic dining table set. A spotlight has been placed on the table pointing towards the commissioned mural on the ceiling, one of the few areas in which Kanye caves in to overindulgence. Scores of depicted angels rush towards the viewer in a display of Kanye’s power, so to speak.

In the living room, the furniture has been arranged to serve the display of his artwork by Takashi Murakami.  Two leather chairs face a coffee table full of art books and another set of upholstered seats. Take a page from this understated room and consider round coffee tables to complete your living room setup, especially if you’re working with a square-shaped living room. For those with a hankering to collect art or any other sort of wall décor, simple furniture in neutral tones is an easy way to highlight your walls.

Kanye’s home office is yet another room dedicated to his love of art, with a silkscreened canvas leaning against the wall and Murakami plushies gushing forth from the corner of his office. Piling plushies in the corner may be messy but when done right, can add nicely to the room’s décor, especially if you’re tackling a minimalist style like Kanye West has.

This star home has been styled in the manner of an art gallery, with wall space and whole rooms oriented towards the display of large art pieces. For those with a taste for art, minimalist décor that Kanye West has chosen is an understated way to show off your art collection.
