I purchase the gps a few weeks ago, and i use it everywhere even places i know how to get to. It's great and i love it. Recommend this product.

I'm not completely satisfied with this product. The directions are delayed up to a half mile. It recalculates unnecessarily and is almost useless when it does this. Overall, I love garmins but this model is not good!

After seeing a friend's GPS, I knew I had to have one. After much research and review reading, I decided on the Garmin nuvi 260, and I'm glad I did. I got it last month, and have taken 2 road trips with it, and it performed (almost) flawlessly. There were a few times when I KNEW a shortcut, and it took me a different way, but it was very quick to recalculate the route based on my "wrong" turn. Since it is illegal in Calif to mount it from your windshield, and I don't like the dashboard mount, I just keep it on the center console. It calls out the street names, so I don't have to look at it anyway. I also love all the points of interest. We needed to find a mattress store (of all things) on one of our recent trips, and it listed about a dozen in the area of the motel where we stayed. All in all, a great little unit for a great price on Amazon.
