   Sturdy and well made - but too large for regular use. My husband plans to keep them just for show.

   The 4 1/2" capacity of these jaws is useful when you are tightening alternator belts on an engine. It is not too difficult to hold the belt tight with these pliers in one hand while you tighten the nut with the other. They will damage fasteners if used in place of a proper wrench.They are also useful to loosen sink traps and other large plumbing nuts, if they are not "stuck" or located in real tight quarters. They work well on plastic & nylon pipe fittings if they are not "stuck." You can easily crush plastic pipe and fittings if you are not careful. These are no substitute for a pipe wrench, but once the fasteners are loose, these work okay.The slip jaw can be a little awkward if you don't control both handles while setting the size.
