PRESS RELEASE

Become.com’s Customers are Seeing Red (and Green and Purple)

Comparison shopping site launches Color Search to deliver product results by color

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – October 23, 2006 – Become.com, the only vertical search engine to combine product-focused Web search with comparison shopping, has launched a breakthrough color feature to help customers quickly find exactly the item they want in the color they desire. The new “Color Search” allows users to choose any color from across the color spectrum and instantly see all of the relevant results from over 5000 merchants featuring 20 million products.

“Our Color Search feature is incredibly powerful for online shoppers who want to find products in a specific color such clothing, shoes, linens and even home appliances,” said Become.com Founder and CEO Michael Yang. “This new feature is another way Become.com is setting the standard in online shopping and search by delivering useful results to consumers whether it’s relevant product research or accurate color.”

Users visiting www.become.com simply type in the item they are searching for in the search box and click on the “shop” button. Instantly, a Color Search bar appears at the top right of the results page. Users can mouse over the color they desire from over 1000 shades to find exactly the red shirt, grey suit, pink shoes or pumpkin-colored dishes they want. Additionally, every product listed at Become.com offers detailed product research and shopping information to enhance consumers’ buying decisions.

Color Search is powered by Become.com’s industry-leading technology that enables the site to instantly translate basic RGB computer colors into a real-world color spectrum using a sophisticated, proprietary algorithm that identifies the dominant color.

On Become.com’s product research results pages, consumers will see innovative features including Search Zoom, which allows users to focus results according to their preferences such as product reviews, buying guides or discussion forums. Irrelevant and spam results are minimized thanks to Become.com’s advanced AIR™ search technology which scours four billion web pages to find only the most relevant information from across the web.

On shopping results pages, consumers can view up to 20 products at a time in the Grid View, save their Favorites for another visit, and sort products by a wide range of features from size and price, to specifics such as color and style. For example, a customer seeking a woman’s teal blue jacket would be able to drill down to find exactly the style and features desired. Other useful shopping features include providing total tax and shipping information and a Nearby Stores locator for those who want to try or buy in person. And when comparing prices, users can sort by lowest price, preferred store or by merchant ratings that are based on user reviews.

Yang added: “This year holiday shoppers are able to search and find a great new outfit or perfect home gift in exactly the shade they want. Consumers can find what they’re looking to buy, and then save time and money by buying it at the best price, all in one stop at Become.com.”
