Cabernet Sauvignon (6 Liter) 2001 Wine

2001 Napa Valley is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. It was blended and barreled down in early 2002, in 100% new American Oak. We blend prior to barrel-aging to achieve a balance of fruit and tannin before they are influenced by oak. We age wine in barrel for approximately 25 months to develop a harmony of components, and then bottle-age for another 20 months, so it's ready to be enjoyed upon release. 2001 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a profound and powerful wine with great finesse. It has a deep, garnet color and a concentrated nose of cassis, chocolate, cloves, nutmeg and vanilla. This wine illustrates great depth and balance on palate, with a sweet core of cassis fruit and a long finish bursting of berries and dark chocolate. It will continue to improve until 2027 given proper cellaring. The Wine Advocate rating: 92.

R.D. develops best in Jeroboam and it seemed right thing to do to limit it to that format, but bottles and magnums of R.D will definitely be back, he reassured. Extremely Limited Quantities Produced Just 400 Jeroboams of R.D. 2000 were bottled, with 350 available worldwide in this numbered wooden gift box, and other 50 forming centerpiece of Bollinger Experience.
