5010 Carbon XX1 ENVE Complete Mountain Bike - 2015 Satin Black/White, L

Bear with us while we make a pretty tall claim; the 2015 Santa Cruz 5010 Carbon XX1 ENVE Complete Mountain Bike might just be the ultimate quiver-killer mountain bike. Sure, there is no shortage of contenders for the top spot, but with a feathery carbon frame that's astonishingly durable, and a build kit that pulls out all the stops, it's hard to imagine a more capable machine. Whether it's all day epics, racing XC in your local mid-week series, or throwing down a couple of laps in a bike park, this bike's only limit is the rider, period. There are a few reasons that the 5010 has earned such enormous respect. First, 27. 5-inch wheels are the sweet spot between the rolling speed of 29ers and the responsiveness of 26ers. Second, 127mm of rear wheel travel lands right between short-travel race rigs and big-hit trail-crushers. Third, the perfectly neutral geometry will climb, descend, and handle with the best of them. The head angle sits at 68 degrees, which is slack enough for DH stability, but aggressive enough for capable climbing. At 17. 1 inches, the chainstays are long enough to provide plenty of climbing grip, but short enough to keep the 5010 carving turns with ease. And finally, the light, stiff carbon fiber chassis is ready for just about anything. Santa Cruz's industry-leading carbon fiber construction makes its way into 5010. For 2015, Santa Cruz is offering two tiers of carbon construction, and this version makes use of the higher grade of carbon fiber. This material is stronger, allowing Santa Cruz to use less of it, so it's about a pound lighter for a medium frame than the lower end version. Both the front and rear triangles are constructed as a whole, rather than bonding them together from sub-assemblies. In addition to saving weight, it ensures that the 5010 is as strong as possible. That's because the fibers are uninterrupted by seams, which happens with other construction methods. If you were to cut it in half, you'd find that the inside of the t...

Pure as Snow (CROOKED E RANCH SERIES) (Volume 2)

Suede’s just an aging broken in cowboy who has now been promoted to foreman on the CROOKED E RANCH. Over ten years ago Suede had made that phone call to Mason, his former rodeo buddy and had been welcomed to the ranch for much needed healing after a bad tangle on one mean ass bronc. He’d been in Montana since he packed his duffle and limped to the big sky country. Morgan, a woman who still flinched when the screen door slammed was on a ranch chalked full of rugged cowboys...alone. Knowing she had to get over this constant fear of men is what kept her there. Could she manage being with only the male species without suffering another panic attack? There was just something about the little slip of a woman. He caught himself thinking about Morgan far more than he had a right to. But there’s more to her...what, is the real question? The petite blonde with the big doe eyes was an awful skittish thing. No doubt someone had did a number on her...but who? Suede’s libido had been in hibernation for quite sometime but Morgan didn’t just jostle that bear she kicked it in the face and slapped it on its ass. Would Morgan be able to get over her troubled past long enough to use Suede to prove she was none of the things that had been branded into her head? Could Suede give Morgan the no strings attached sex she asked for? Did he even want to when this was the first woman to hold his interest in...well, forever? Whether it was foolishness or the magical feel of Christmas he wasn’t backing away from her. WARNING: Contains a pixie of a woman who is the one in charge in the bedroom leading one of the toughest cowboys around by his...well, you know.

INTRODUCTION BY THE AUTHOR: Many of these stories hark back more than fifty years, unwritten stories that lived in me the way stories do, as a bit of memory – a certain smell, the turn of a head, or the particular sound of a voice. Or, in the case of “Love, Mona,” in a quilted dime-store night table and a sleeping Mexican painted on a cupboard door. My Brooklyn stories were told through the eyes of a child growing up with the rumble of the El along 86th Street, walking with her mother in her big-shouldered mouton coat, as she did her errands and talked with the shopkeepers. The walkup apartment house where she lived with her family, the damp steamy smell of the lobby where the metal taps on her shoes made a satisfying clicking sound as she ran up and down the marble steps. The seamstress in her apartment building, her friend’s father who seldom spoke, the people her parents knew, the relatives – her ear pressed to the wall, hearing talk that was not for her to hear – the people they spoke of in Yiddish so the child would not understand. Decades later, they called to me, the memory of them morphing, changing, altering, becoming characters that were and were not them. And I kept writing about the loving and sometimes mysterious bonds of family. I dressed my characters, gave them habits and a particular way to speak, and put them down on the pages, wanting things they could not have, remembering things they wanted to forget. They mended and they sewed, they owned stores and boutiques, they jerry-made contraptions and carved dollhouse furniture. They dug in the dirt and planted tomatoes, they hunted for bear and did a jigsaw puzzle in a far off mountain cabin. Makers and fixers, they had the creative qualities derived from my parents and passed down to me. Beginning with Frances, the young child grieving for her mother in “Love, Mona,” these stories come full circle to Rusty in “Feminine Products,” pregnant but unmarried, desperate to make a family for her unborn child. Family is a recurrent theme in my stories. I hope they keep you turning pages, interested and entertained as the characters become ‘altered’ by their circumstances and continue to make their way in life.
