Flite Team Edition

The "Team Edition" designation on Selle Italia's Flite Saddle means that it was built to handle the rigors of racing at the highest level, day in and day out. With it comes bold graphics that let others know that, yes, this is the classic Flite perch and it means business. The Flite starts with a mid-width, carbon-reinforced nylon composite base. And, if you're wondering what the composite percentage is, it's 30% carbon fiber and 70% nylon. The carbon blend adds to the support, while enabling a natural flex that neutralizes road and trail chatter. In terms of dimensions, the tail is 145mm wide, which is just a millimeter narrower than the original 1990 Flite design, and it's also 14mm wider than the SLR. To boost the comfort, the Flite received more padding than Selle Italia's SLR line of saddles. However, it's worth noting that this is by no means a sofa. Instead, it was designed to be a responsive saddle that's well suited to racing and all-day rides. Furthering this concept is the Flite's quick-drying and breathable Lorica cover -- the same material found on a majority of SLR saddles. Additionally, it has the added benefit of being non-abrasive and low in friction, meaning that your shorts will slip right by instead of catching and chafing. The Flite rests on Selle Italia's Hi-Tech carbon rail system. These proven rails provide plenty of strength, and, just as importantly, without stacking on the grams. They also feature the additional benefit of vibration absorption, meaning that you'll experience less numbness during long races. The Selle Italia Flite Kit Carbonio is available in a 145 x 275mm size and in the color Black.

Flite Saddle Black, 145x275

We've had an ongoing love affair with the original Selle Italia Flite Saddle for over two decades, now. So, it should come as no surprise that the newest iteration of the Selle Italia Flite appeals so strongly to our senses. It's similar to the mid-width shape of the original, only it's been trimmed down by five millimeters in length, and the profile of the nose has been slimmed to match. So, if you're looking for a classic profile with a modern twist, this could is the perch for you. The Flite starts with a mid-width, carbon-reinforced nylon composite base. And, if you're wondering what the composite percentage is, it's 10% carbon fiber and 90% nylon. This is around 20% less carbon fiber then what's found in the SLR line, but it adds to the support, while enabling a natural flex that neutralizes road and trail chatter. The tail is 145mm wide, just a millimeter narrower than the original 1990 Flite design, and it's 14mm wider than the SLR. To boost the comfort, the Flight receives more padding than Selle Italia's SLR line of saddles. However, it's worth noting that this isn't a couch. Instead, it was designed to be a responsive saddle that's well suited to racing and all-day rides. Furthering this concept is the Flight's quick-drying and breathable Lorica cover -- the same material found on a majority of SLR saddles. Additionally, it has the added benefit of being non-abrasive and low in friction, meaning that your shorts will slip right by instead of catching and chafing. The Flite rests on Selle Italia's TI 316 Tube titanium rails. These rails provide plenty of strength, and just as importantly, without stacking on the grams. They also feature the additional benefit of vibration absorption, meaning that you'll experience less numbness of long rides. The Selle Italia Flite Saddle is available in a 145x275mm size and in the colors Black, White, and Red. Please note that this saddle is approved for both off-road and road use, and that it has a claimed weight ...

Stylus 0 Team Seatpost 31.6, 280mm

3T describes its new Stylus 0 Team Seatpost as a 'fresh new take on the two-bolt seatpost.' We fully agree, as the sleek post provides a solid, lightweight pillar for mounting your perch, and it possesses the same classic styling that you've come to expect from 3T. The new Stylus 0 Team seatpost was constructed from a blend of lightweight and durable carbon fiber and aluminum. For the shaft, 3T used its ultra-stiff carbon fiber. Long a preferred choice for its smooth, damping ride characteristics, 3T's carbon provides you with the ultimate blend of low weight, stiffness, and comfort. Atop the carbon post, 3T added its refined two-bolt alloy head. This new finned clamping interface is where the new post really shines, as 3T spent considerable time getting both the look and functionality just right. The alloy head features a rearward 'swoosh' that was modeled after the classic single-bolt designs of the good ol' days, keeping that traditional aesthetic alive. The two clamping bolts were placed on either side of the saddle-support cradle, resulting in a secure, stable clamping interface that's easy to adjust. 3T's Stylus 0 models place the seat clamp assembly directly in line with the seatpost for zero setback. 3T's reasoning for this design is that many professional cyclists prefer a neutral positioning in favor of being set back, which allows them to easily get forward on the saddle and down into an aerodynamic position. The 3T Stylus 0 Team Seatpost is available in 280, 350, and 420mm lengths, with either a 27. 2 or 31. 6mm diameter. The post comes in either a UD Matte Black finish that features a Red stripe down the length of the post, or a Stealth colorway without the stripe. The post weighs around 195g (31. 6mm x 280mm).

SLR Kit Carbonio 2 Saddle White, 131mm

Selle Italia's SLR saddle shape has won the brand countless fans over the years, so it only makes sense to continue improving on this perennial favorite. That's why Selle Italia gave the Kit Carbonio 2 Saddle carbon fiber rails. The result is the same SLR shape that we all know and love, less a few grams, and with extra vibration damping for all-day comfort. The Kit Carbonio is yet another staple piece in Selle Italia's SLR line, and as such, it employs the classic SLR shell shape. It's decidedly thin on padding, which keeps it comfortable on all-day rides, rather than generating hot-spots as over-padded saddles often do. The 131mm width of the wings provides a comfortable perch for those of us with average width sit bones, and our experience shows us that the SLR shape tends to get better with time. The nylon composite shell employs a 30% blend of carbon fiber, which yields an ideal balance between support and flex. Accordingly, this pairing of characteristics tends to cancel out the harshest of road vibrations. The Carbonio uses carbon fiber seat rails in order to knock the weight down to around 125 grams -- only around 30 grams heavier than Selle Italia's flagship SLR Techno saddle. The solid carbon fiber rails are not only svelte, but they also add a great deal of strength. Additionally, the carbon, and its ovalized shaped rails, is far more proficient at dissipating vibration and jarring than either Vanox or titanium. And since this system works in conjunction with a carbon-reinforced nylon shell, chatter is significantly reduced, nearly eliminating numbness and discomfort. The Selle Italia Kit Carbonio 2 Saddle is available in 131x275mm size and in the colors Black and White.

SLR Super Flow Saddle Black, 131

Whether you're ticking off mile markers on the pave or logging hours on ribbons of singletrack, it's essential to have a comfortable, supportive perch. And Selle Italia's SLR Super Flow Saddle answers the call by building on the classic SLR shape with an anatomic cutout that relieves pressure on your sensitive tissues. Factor in a sub-200 gram weight and two width options, and you have a saddle that's made for putting in long, hard miles. While the Super Flow maintains the flat, broad profile that's made the SLR a classic, it's the sizable cutout that both garners the most attention and earns the Super Flow its name. As with most saddles incorporating pressure-relieving cutouts, the idea is to channel pressure away from your perineal artery and the adjacent soft tissue. As a result, that pressure is directed to your sit bones (ischial tuberosity), which are far more adept at supporting your body weight. Additionally, they're able to do so without causing numbness during long rides. This principle is further supported by the wide cut out, as it removes pressure from the sensitive nerves in the region. For example, the pudendal nerve is a paired structure, with a left and right nerve. It is formed in the sacral plexus, and in simplified terms, moves down the body between the piriformis muscle and the ischiococcygeus muscles, eventually attaching to the ischial spine. From here it eventually enters the pudendal canal within which it divides off into several branches including the perineal nerve and the inferior rectal nerve. Keeping pressure off of these nerves is imperative to reducing numbness while riding. If you've ever been misguided enough to try a gel saddle cover, you know that a soft seat does not constitute a comfortable ride. That's why Selle Italia used a modest amount of sensibly placed padding in order to ensure your comfort after multiple hours in the saddle. In keeping with that theme, the saddle base is built from a nylon-based composite, which inc...
