Elite SLS 9.4S Complete Bike - 2014 White/Yellow, XXS

Unless you live in the flatlands of the midwest, you undoubtedly look for every legal advantage possible to make climbing a bit less daunting. Whether you're a racer or endurance rider, you'll appreciate the attention to detail that has been layered on the Boardman Bikes SLS frame. Paired with Shimano Di2 technology, the 9. 4S version of the bike does not compromise in strength, stiffness, or weight -- or build. Chris Boardman knows a thing or two about bikes. Having competed and won in disciplines ranging from the Individual Pursuit to the Hour Record, he has applied his obsession with aerodynamics and weight to create a frame that is lighter than the UCI minimum weight -- only it's not "for show only." It rides and climbs in the capable hands of professional riders the world over. The SLS frame used in the 9. 4 is just one small step down from the ultralight frame, and it only weighs 50 grams more. It features high modulus carbon fiber monocoque construction. This process allows virtually any tubing shape to be created. Additionally, to develop a frame profile that maximizes strength, stiffness, and weight, the SLS was developed using Finite Element Anaylsis. FEA is a process by where specific loads applied by the rider to the frame are simulated but with far greater force. This helps to identify how the stresses and loads are distributed across each component. Using this information, material is placed where it is needed and removed where it isn't. For example, the down tube has been shaped to specifically address strength, stiffness, and weight. The one-piece monocoque design incorporates a one-piece carbon PF30 bottom bracket and oversized chainstays. This transfers power from the crankset through to the rear drivetrain and wheel so that none of your watts are wasted. Additionally, the profile of the seat stays increases shock absorption and reduces weight of the frame. The SLS Endurance Racing geometry is stable, predictable, and comfort...

Elite CXR 9.0 Complete Bike - 2015 Black, M

We all dream of owning a quiver of bikes. But for most of us, it's just not practical. Boardman Bikes has designed the CXR 9. 0 for those of us who don't want to choose between an on-road or off-road ride. The CXR 9. 0 is the entry level build in Boardman's new cyclocross line. It's a little lighter on the wallet, but it still received the same attention to detail as the pro-level 9. 8 frame. The CXR 9. 0 features a superlight CXR triple-butted alloy frame. But, like its carbon counterparts, the CXR 9. 0 features custom designed tubing profiles. These have been designed using imaging to determine where the forces occur during off-road riding. The oversized downtube lends to stiffness and keeps steering sharp, which is a critical skill on tight cyclocross courses. Additionally, the juncture of the headtube is oversized and tapered for increased steering precision.Looking to the rear triangle of the CXR 9. 0, you'll find that the chainstays are oversized box sections. These assist with transferring power from the PF30 bottom bracket to the rear wheel. The asymmetric chainstays also feature rear disc brake caliper mounts. In addition, the seat stays were designed with a curved wishbone profile. This profile helps to absorb chatter from rough roads and enhances your overall riding comfort. The CXR's fork was designed to be exceptionally stable, comfortable, and to efficiently handle variable wind conditions. Boardman factored in that both the proximity and spinning of the wheel also affect the fork's ability to reduce wind-resistance, which is why its blades were computer modeled. Boardman flattened the insides of the blades and curved the outside surfaces for an enhanced airflow interaction between the fork and wheel. And like the rear chainstays, the fork also features mounts for disc brakes. You'll notice a few details that place the Boardman cyclocross frame at the head of its category. Boardman 'cross frames feature both mudguard and rear rack mounts. Yo...

Elite SLS 9.0 Complete Road Bike - 2014 Red, XXS

Not all of us are mountain goats. Anything that purports to make that slog up Guardsman Pass a bit easier is sought out with enthusiasm. Boardman knows the importance of weight when it comes to climbing, as it proves in the new SLS frame. The SLS was designed to ride over the highest mountain passes without an extra ounce of weight. The SLS 9. 8 build is so light in fact that it comes in at under UCI weight class limits. The SLS 9. 0 Complete Bike is the introductory package of the SLS frame, so that anyone is able to reap the benefits of a lightweight bike. And it's no less impressive. The SLS frame is high modulus carbon fiber monocoque construction. The definition of the monocoque process is hidden within the name -- 'mono' being Latin for 'one,' and 'coque' being French for 'shell.' So, as logic would have it, monocoque carbon fiber is formed as one piece in a single mold. This process allows virtually any tubing shape to be created. To develop a frame profile that maximizes strength, stiffness, and weight, the SLS was designed using Finite Element Anaylsis. This design transfers power from the crankset through to the rear drivetrain and wheel so that none of your watts are wasted. Additionally, the profile of the seat stays increases shock absorption and reduces the weight of the frame. The complete frame and fork weigh in at approximately 850 grams. The SLS Endurance Racing geometry features stability, predictable handling, and comfort for ...
