Dense black centre with a deep garnet rim. bouquet is redolent of dark plums and chocolate with a hint of mixed spice. For this wine, we blended Barossa Cabernet with Shiraz and a dash of Malbec to create a wine with layers of texture and flavour. By drawing fruit from a number of Barossa sub-regions--each with their own unique terroir--Mentor captures immense regional definition of a great Barossa red. 2009 Mentor is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Shiraz and 10% Malbec. It is a limited release showing great depth of colour, rich flavours of blackcurrant and dark chocolate and a firm fine grained tannin finish--a wine of great concentration and style which can be cellared with confidence.
