EA70 XCT 29er Wheelset - Tubeless - 29in Set, 15mm Front/12x142 TA/10x135 QR Rear

Constructed from aluminum, the EA70 XCT 29er Tubeless Wheels ride on years of alloy know-how from the specialists at Easton. In fact, the signature EA70 alloy rim combines the durability of aluminum with a weight that rivals some competitors' carbon alternatives. Adding to the strength side of things, the wheels benefit from EA90 technology at the rim. If you take a good look over the rim's surface, you'll notice Easton's hallmark welding process at the seam. Also, like the EA90, the XCT uses 24 straight-pull, double-butted spokes on the front and rear, along with standard sealed cartridge bearings within the Easton X4 hubs. Creating a UST-approved rim is tricky, but Easton found a way to get around the task of eliminating the spoke penetrations in the outer-wall of the rim. The straight-pull spokes are placed in the hub in a three-cross pattern, as per usual, but the nipple pulls double duty. In other words, it's both internally and externally threaded. When the spokes are drawn into the nipple, they're simultaneously threaded into the inner-wall of the rim. This way, they're able to be trued exactly like a wheel with standard nipples, and only the included valve stems pierce the entire cross-section of the rim. Meanwhile, the hubs for the EA70 XCT 29-inch wheels are machined from aluminum and house standard cartridge bearings for easy serviceability. Please note that these wheels are sold as a set and are compatible with Easton's XD Driver body, which allows you to run SRAM XX1 and X01 cassettes.

MTN 29er Trail - Black Label Black, 29in

Chances are that regardless of what industry the term "black label" is used in, the corresponding product is going to be nestled in that exclusive, top-shelf category. Such is the case with Reynolds' new MTN 29er Trail - Black Label wheels, which use the manufacturer's proven carbon MTN hoops as a starting platform, but add in custom DT Swiss hubs and spokes to complete this exclusive 29er package. At the heart of Reynolds' new Black Label wheel lineup is the high modulus carbon XC rim used in its current MTN collection. The Trail edition is 29mm wide at the outside, and 21mm wide internally, and that generous width increases the volume of your tires, which enables lower pressures while also enabling a more stable platform for cornering. Tubeless compatibility has been continually refined, with an enhanced bead hook and a deeper middle section that makes tire swaps a bit easier. Naturally, they provide the characteristically damp ride that you'd expect from a durable set of carbon rims, meaning that the benefits extend far beyond weight and stiffness. The extensive aerodynamic expertise of the team at Reynolds is also on full display, meaning that these carbon hoops cut through the air with a bare minimum of drag. The Black Label name is derived from Reynolds' new graphics technology, which relies on heat sublimation. This extensive process results in the clean and durable, blacked-out appearance on the rims that, in addition to giving off a stealthy look, shaves roughly 10-15 grams per wheel compared to standard decal application. The rims are laced to DT Swiss 240 Centerlock hubs that utilize replaceable end caps, which make them compatible with most modern axle standards. The hubs have also been given a custom Black Label graphic treatment to match the rims, completing the all-black aesthetic. The rear hub employs DT's proven alloy freehub, meaning that durability and serviceability is ensured. The hub shell is a straight-pull affair, which improves stiff...

Enduro 29er

Nobody likes flimsy wheels, especially if you're riding a 29er, where wheel flex is most apparent. But with its proprietary aluminum spokes and a burly, yet lightweight rim shape, there's no reason to fear flex with the Industry Nine Enduro 29er Wheelset. They may be as light as other companies' race wheels, but the Enduro wheelset is built to withstand real world use under aggressive riders. And that translates into confidence in your wheels, no matter how hard you're pushing it. While traditional spokes are drawn from steel wire, I-9 spokes are machined from 7075 aluminum. The spokes are straight-pull, and they have roughly a 25% greater cross section then comparable 14/15 double butted steel spokes. This translates into greater tensile strength. Threading on these spokes is also exclusive to Industry Nine. On traditional spokes, threads are rolled, not cut. This adds to strength, but it also creates a stress riser where the thread channel is narrower than the diameter of the spoke itself. However, Industry Nine doesn't need to roll its threads. Instead, they're created during the machining process, only they're cut so that the thread channel is the same as the spokes diameter. The threads themselves are actually larger than the spoke in order to create a strong interface with the hub. But, that's not all that I9 did to improve the Torch. The new Torch hubs are now compatible with all axle standards via separately available end caps. The big news, however, is within the hub. The Torch preserves the 120 points of contact and the three degrees of near-instant engagement that's earned Industry Nine its cult following. Only now, the pawls have two teeth instead of three. Along with that, a changed cantilever angle, and a shallower tooth profile on the hardened drive ring, reduce freehub drag in comparison to prior iterations. Additionally, the Torch hubs incorporate a proprietary mechanism that features two sets of three pawls that are phased three degrees from e...

Enlightenment 29 SLX Complete Mountain Bike - 2015

Ever since the three additional inches that define a 29er made their way into the trail-o-sphere, there have been a series of critiques leveled against big wheels. The most persistent of these is that 29ers are incompatible with long-travel suspensions. With the hardtail Enlightenment 29 SLX Complete Mountain Bike, Ellsworth effectively says, "So what?" The Enlightenment's geometry is highlighted with a steep, tapered head tube, stiff hardtail, low bottom bracket, and -- of course -- the tires' increased, 29-inch contact patch. The result is a ride that corners on rails, climbs eagerly on high grades, and rocks cross-country speed to make the body-armored chairlift crowd look like ponderous beetles on everything but their own GoPro highlight reel. Despite its big wheels and long chainstays, the Enlightenment also still manages to come in with a slightly shorter wheelbase than we've seen from comparable models across the industry, so it doesn't lose grace in the face of tricky trail sections. The Enlightenment owes its stiffness to sheets of Toray carbon that are laid-up according to Ellsworth's Force Vector Anisotropic Design. This translates into unidirectional Toray carbon fiber strategically wrapped across varying shapes and wall thicknesses in order to strike a balance between weight and energy transfer that highlights the bike's tendency toward speed at all costs. This tendency is further indulged by the full Shimano SLX drivetrain and a FOX Float CTD fork that you can lock out for speed or open for 100mm of travel, just in case the trail furniture gets a little too enduro. The Enlightenment is finished with the forward-thinking addition of replaceable dropouts, which allow the option to switch to singlespeed for when you finally decide to fully embrace the "endure" aspect of Endurance racing.

LES 29 Carbon Mountain Bike Frame Matte Carbon/Red, M

As common as plaid, button-up shirts on 30 somethings, it's getting harder and harder for a new 29er to standout -- especially with an ambitious and fresh 27. 5-inch face stealing the limelight. Thankfully, Pivot is preventing 29er's midlife from the ubiquitous office job and a social life of mediocrity with its hardtail, LES 29 Carbon Mountain Bike Frame. Aside from the flight-ready, jump-specific Point, the LES represents Pivot's first venture onto hardtail mountain bike territory. But, this is far from Pivot's first hula with big hoops and the almighty black fiber. Five years ago, the Mach 429 shook up squishies by mating 29er wheels with DW-Link suspension, and the Mach 5. 7 has recently set a new benchmark for what is possible with carbon fiber. What separates the 5. 7 from the carbon masses is Pivot's exclusive hollow-box, high-compression internal molding technology -- the same process used to create the LES' signature shapes. And those tasteful curves aren't like the false advertising of a corset. They're the result of extensive frame tuning in order to provide a sub 2. 5lb chassis that accelerates with enthusiasm, yet filters body-fatiguing chatter. Pivot's internal mold technology allows for greater compaction and smoother internal walls to produce a lighter, stronger, and highly optimized frame. The top tube and seatstays are flattened compared to the large down tube. This allows a leaf-spring-like-motion to dampen the LES' ride. This shape, however, is wider along the z-axis, so it won't flex side to side while sprinting. Adding color to the ride-quality picture are stout chainstays that have been mated to a 92mm PressFit bottom bracket. This provides excellent response on a geared bike, but better yet, the increased strength also welcomes the demands of single speed riding. And yes, the LES can strip the shinny bits in favor of simplicity with the separately available, Swinger drops. Making a single speed frame is fairly straight forward, however,...

X0 2x10 Low Direct Mount - S3 Front Derailleur Top Pull, 39t

The SRAM X0 2x10 Low Direct Mount S3 Front Derailleur is specifically designed to work in conjunction with SRAM's 2x10 cranksets. The cage itself is shorter and narrower than a triple-specific changer -- great news for modern 29er frames where clearance between rear suspension and front derailleurs is paramount. SRAM's S3 designation means that this front derailleur is compatible with the current crop of E2 style direct mounts found on frames from Yeti, Niner, and Pivot. It's made to handle up to a 15-tooth differential between the big and little chainrings. The aluminum links that shape the swing of the derailleur cage have widely spaced pivots for an incredible level of stiffness. The rigidity inherent in the derailleur's parallelogram is part of what makes X0's front shifting so quick and efficient. The derailleur cage is made from steel for maximum durability, and it's also shaped for an optimized working relationship with SRAM's X-Glide chainrings. The SRAM X0 2x10 Low Direct Mount S3 Front Derailleur is available as either top or bottom pull versions for 39 or 42 tooth configurations. For mounting, it bolts straight into a Shimano-style Direct Mount on your frame.

Mountain King 29in Tire - Clincher One Color, Performance - 29 x 2.2 Fold BW

29ers are made for speed, but they can't do it alone. Without the right tire, 29-inch wheels are just metal hoops. Not ideal for anything but trundling. The Continental Mountain King 29er Tire is designed to take full advantage of a wheel's speedy properties, because riding on a big rim is a lot more fun than the alternative. This is the Performance version of the Mountain King, which aims for the ideal cross-country ride courtesy of its Conti Pure Grip compound construction. Pure Grip sits just below Black Chili in Continental's compound family tree, and its key benefit is, as you might have guessed, grip. It's not just purely about grip, though. The compound is durable and long-lasting. The low-profile center knobs, with their self-cleaning, open tread design, complement Pure Grip's cross-country properties by reducing rolling resistance. The Continental Mountain King 29-inch Performance Tire is a clincher with a folding bead. It's available in two sizes, 29 x 2. 2 and 29 x 2. 4.
