Rope Walker Sky Hook

FREE SHIPPING! See Details

Two charming additions to our classic collection of sky hooks. Inspired by ?Cirque? characters. Handmade in recycled metal, expertly aged and finished with a subtle, attractive patina. Hand painted by skilled artists. Elegant, intriguing, irresistible.Front row at the circusOur house was large, which was no luxury since it was filled with children and books. My Dad had the upper floors braced with steel beams; his library was heavy. Books filled his study and dominated the six bedrooms. Even the stairs were lined with bookshelves. We never ran out of reading material, one of the perks of his job as the editor-in-chief of a newspaper. Another advantage was free tickets to the theater, opera, and to the occasional circus passing through. Dad liked the opera. I liked the circus. The circus won, and I peeled potatoes for eight all winter. I still prefer the smell of elephants, tigers and lions to that of potato skin. And the horses! Not to forget the ladies riding bareback, flaunting their gauze tutus. I realize that in our and time, trained animas are an issue, but to me, sitting front row, the circus was another world, one of romance, adventure, color and exotic smells.

Steinbock Walker Vest

Boiled wool can trace its origins back to the 9th century, when outdoor lifestyles forced people to develop a fabric that would withstand the cold and wind. They knitted very large jackets, then placed them into hot water, resulting in a dense, durable fabric that became known as boiled wool. As a natural fiber, wool keeps warm in winter, cool in summer and dry in humid conditions. Still produced by natural methods, boiled wool has become a staple in many an outdoorsman's closet. Steinbock has kept the traditional silhouette of this brown boiled-wool button vest for men and added a lining to keep the fabric in perfect shape. Stay warm and presentable in the field or at the dinner table. Boiled-wool button vest in brown. 100% wool with 100% rayon lining. Dry clean. Imported. Sizes: 38-48.
