Replica Nun Costume

If you're not well versed in the Bible, the jig may be up! Sure, this replica nun outfit looks the part from head to toe, from the habit, to the robe and hood, but if you start trying to recite something you read from the back of a cereal box and try to pass it off as Psalms 204, they'll probably know that you're not really on the pursuit of religious enlightenment.

Valley of Fire

Micah Bishop doesn't believe in miracles - until a derringer-packing nun busts him out of jail. But it's not Christian charity that's driving Sister Genevieve - she wants Micah to take her to a place called the Valley of Fire, deep in the most lawless and perilous part of New Mexico Territory. It was here where an order of nuns met their Maker, and it's Sister Genevieve's mission to see that they are given a proper funeral. Or so she claims. Micah's not in the habit of helping nuns, but it turns out the only true vow Genevieve ever took was to get rich - and there's a fortune in gold buried along with the sisters. With kill-crazy bandits and blood-hunting bounty hunters after them, it'll take a miracle to reach the Valley of Fire, let alone get the gold. But sometimes, the Almighty does work in mysterious ways.

The Praise of Glory: Reminiscences of Sister Elizabeth of the Trinity, a Carmelite Nun of Dijon, 1901-1906 (Classic Reprint)

French army, was born July 10, 1880. The family settled at Dijon, and after the premature death of the father, the mother devoted herself entirely to her two daughters, who, in return, were passionately fond of her and of each other. It was an ideal household pious, but not narrow-minded, cheerful, and evidently in comfortable circumstances. At the time of her first Communion Elizabeth learnt to overcome her temper ;she also made up her mind to become a nun indeed, the thought was not new even then. The wise mother did not oppose the child, but her education must be completed. An attractive proposal of marriage was but half-heartedly entertained by the mother, and not at all by the daughter. Instead of this, the love of our Lord grew steadily in the childs heart until it reigned supreme, and at length exclusively. The mother foresaw the ultimate issue, but demurred until the daughter had come of age, and then she hastened the sacrifice which must have been greater for her than for her child. The latter entered the Carmelite convent at Dijon, August 2, 1901; took the habit on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, made her profession January n, 1903, received the veil on the 2ist, and died, after an illness of eight months, November 9, 1906.(Typographical errors above are due to OCR software and don't occur in the book.)About the PublisherForgotten Books is a publisher of historical writings, such as: Philosophy, Classics, Science, Religion, History, Folklore and Mythology.Forgotten Books' Classic Reprint Series utilizes the latest technology to regenerate facsimiles of historically important writings. Nuns Having Fun

Hallelujah, it's a book! After proving itself to be the "funniest calendar of the year" (according to Gene Shalit), "irresistible" (USA Weekend), and "habit-forming" (Maxim magazine), the Nuns Having Fun calendar has inspired Nuns Having Fun, a book of endearing nuttiness. Catholic kitsch doesn't get any funnier. Written by Maureen Kelly and Jeffrey Stone, pitch-perfect co-authors of the nuns calendar and the New York Times bestseller Growing Up Catholic, Nuns Having Fun features hundreds of sisters in full habit, cutting loose and having a hoot. Here are nuns in the surf ("This is even more fun than walking on water"), nuns in bumper cars ("We brake for Jesus"), nuns in a beer hall ("Ale Marys"), and nuns in the museum, huddled in front of a study of nudes ("It's okay to open your eyes. Sister Wendy says it's art"). There are nuns on skates, at bat, at the theater, skeet shooting (nuns with guns!), even hitting the slots (you know it's for a good cause). The 125 images are from the 1950s and '60s, black-and-white and possessing a pure retro charm; the written material is all-new. Drawing on their years as parochial school students, the authors explore the lore and legends surrounding nuns, including Favorite Punishments from Nuns, Nuns Say the Darndest Things, How to Recognize a Nun After Vatican II, a Wimple Watch, and List of People Who Could Have Been Nuns. As Sister says, "To err is human. To laugh is divine."

Highland Heat

Praise for To Conquer a Highlander:"Not to be missed." -Lora Leigh, New York Times bestselling author of Lion's HeatRuined, Betrayed, and banished...As brave as she is impulsive, Deirdre Chattan's tendency to follow her heart and not her head has finally tarnished her reputation beyond repair. But when powerful Highland Laird Quinton Cameron finds her, he doesn't care about her past-it's her future he's about to change...But it's never too late for redemption...From the moment Quinton sets eyes on Deirdre Chattan, rational thought vanishes. With nothing to lose, Deirdre and Quinton band together to protect king and country. But what they can accomplish alone is nothing compared to what they can build with their passion for each other...What readers say about Mary Wine's Scottish romance:"Simply extraordinary.""Scottish Highlands, rugged and virile warriors-there is nothing like it.""Plenty of romance, action, intrigue, and danger."

Grains of Sand is a series of vignettes about life on the beach: the people you meet, the flotsam left by the tides, and the stories that get written in the sand. It's about: * A rusted beach chair inscribed "best mother ever" and the battle to save it from the dump. * A lifeguard who risks her life to save a blind dog from drowning. * A laminated card, found floating in shallow water, showing the emergency exits of a DC-10 aircraft. * A nun who jogs at sunrise while saying her devotions, wearing a black habit and pink running shoes. * The battle between the crows and the seagulls for trash dominance. * The children's kazoo marching band playing "God Bless America" while bather's stand at attention.
