Barbera D'asti La Crena 2009 750ml

This wine is from Italy, Piedmont region, Barbera D'asti sub-region. The history of the Vietti winery traces its roots back to the 19th Century. The estate, which has been in the Vietti family for four generations, is based in the village of Castiglione Falletto in Piedmont’s Langhe region. In 1919 Mario Vietti transformed the family’s farm into a grape growing and wine producing business, creating the first Vietti labeled wines. Alfredo Currado married Mario’s daughter Luciana and made a name for Vietti’s single-vineyard Barolo and Barbera. He also put the native Piedmont varietal Arneis on the wine map. In 1990 Alfredo and Luciana’s son Luca joined the family business as winemaker after working at California’s Simi Winery, Opus One, Long Vineyards and Bordeaux’s Mouton-Rothschild. His innovative winemaking utilizes a unique combination of modern and traditional practices. He eliminated equipment that measures acid and tannin levels in favor of a more intuitive approach. Vietti organically farms more than 25 single vineyards with vines up to 90 years of age..

Vietti organically farms more than 25 single vineyards with vines up to 90 years of age.. The 90+ year old vines were planted in a southeast exposition on a 2.5 acre parcel. The fruit was cold macerated and then fermented for 10 days in steel vats with pneumo-mechanical breaking up of the cap followed by racking and return. The wine remained on its skins for seven days, was transferred to barrel for eight months for its malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for 10 months in oak casks and bottled unfiltered.. This full-bodied wine offers refreshing acidity that is well integrated with rich and soft tannins. The long finish shows wonderful complexity and finesse. BARBERA Wine Italian Still Wine

Insignia 2010 750ml

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. With the release of the 1974 Insignia in the spring of 1978, Joseph Phelps Vineyards became the first California winery to produce a blend of the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties of Bordeaux under a proprietary label. Considered innovative at the time, the Insignia name was selected to represent the finest available production in each vintage year, and became the first proprietary wine of California to place blending above either varietal or vineyard designation as a determinant of quality. It would not be followed until a decade later by the second such wine, Opus One, and Insignia has remained the benchmark of this category for over a quarter century.Insignia is an opulent wine of concentration, complexity and structure, with a superb balance of finely tuned acidity and dense, velvety tannins. Cassis, liquorice and spice are abundant on the palate, with notes of eucalyptus and earth. The finish is sweet, elegant and extended.. A gorgeously intense bouquet of lead pencil shavings, spring flowers, black currants, blackberries, and subtle smoke and foresty aromas jumps from the glass of this full-bodied, rich, concentrated wine with soft tannins, a multidimensional mouthfeel, and a long, rich finish displaying well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. This beauty is one of the top Insignias produced over recent years. It should age easily for 20+ years. The stunning 2010 Insignia, which is now in bottle, was made from 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and the rest Merlot and Malbec, 11,060 cases were produced, and it achieved 14.9% natural alcohol. All of the fruit came from estate vineyards. BORDEAUX BLEND Wine CALIFORNIA STILL WINE

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2010 750ml

This wine is from Australia, West Australia region, South West Australia sub-region and Margaret River appellation. There has been a lot of experimentation with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon at Cullen over the years. The initial blend gave way to varietal Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc in the 1980s. From 1991 to 1993, a reserve blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon was made as well as varietal Sauvignon and Semillon. Since 1997, there has been only one wine made from these grapes. Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2010 750ml

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. The 2005 ZD Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon represents another example of our commitment to producing powerful cabernets that also exhibit an elegant balance and distinctive style. With ZDs organically farmed Rutherford Estate as the core, this wine is a blend from several small low yielding hillside vineyards in the Napa Valley. Each vineyard lot was fermented and aged separately for one year before blending. The final reserve blend was then returned to barrel for an additional two years of rest in American Oak barrels. Savoring the intense aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis and plum, and subtle notes of clove, anise and sweet vanilla is an absolute joy. Deep, ripe black fruit is enveloped in soft, velvety tannins that carry extraordinary fruit flavors through to a long, seductive finish. This wine is drinking great right now but will age beautifully for many years to come. Only 800 cases produced! Enjoy!-Chris Pisani, Winemaker CABERNET SAUVIGNON Wine CALIFORNIA STILL WINE

Melka Cj 2011 750ml

CJ is an acronym for our two children, Chloe and Jeremy. We decided to make this wine as a fun project - something youthful in spirit, with vibrant fruit sources. The idea was to create one of the best value wines available. Our first vintage of CJ was 1996, the year Jeremy was born, and it was a mere 200 cases. Today, our yearly production is a consistent 1,500 cases. The vineyards that contribute to CJ are 100% Napa Valley, ranging from Coombsville to Calistoga. This is the wine you open up while cooking dinner, then bring to the table. It’s meant to be enjoyed young with family and friends.

Sanguis Chardonnay Loner W10-a Bien Nacido Vineyard 2010 750ml

This wine is from United States, California region, Santa Barbara sub-region and Santa Maria Valley appellation. If Sanguis is my playground where anything goes (the ‘maximalist project'), the wines bottled under the new ‘Loner' designation are as stripped down and minimalistas it gets - from how they are made right down to the labels. ‘The Loners' are varietal and vineyard-specific wines fermented on their indigenous yeasts with ample inclusion of whole clusters; there is no use of new oak, no racking, and of course no fining or filtration - oh, and they are Burgundianby lineage. Had someone suggested that I'd take this direction when I started making wine, I would have probably raised an eyebrow and shaken the head in dismissal - what can one say: ‘frequently wrong but never in doubt' - but there are hundreds of different ways to arrive at the same end-result: Great Wine! So what these two share with the rest of the Sanguis wines is that they aim to be singular, expressive and beautiful. While Chardonnay can be a welcome component in some of the white Rhone varietal blends that we make under the Sanguis label, it can rather obviously be a stunning thing onto itself when grown in the right place (and tended to with the same respect that seems strangely reserved for the red varieties). In recognition of this potential, this minimalist Chardonnay is made within the same parameters - ‘brought up' in stainless steel and neutral oak barrels, whole cluster, etc., etc. From yet another young block, this one at the famous Bien Nacidovineyard in the cool foothills east of Santa Maria - also a marginal-magical place where Chardonnay retains searing high acidity while achieving stunning ripeness - delicate yet strong, subtle yet expressive, bright and vibrant -singular/beautiful..

Ramey Chardonnay Platt Vineyard 2011 750ml

This wine is from United States, California region, Sonoma County sub-region and Sonoma Coast appellation. A new vineyard designation for us, Platt was planted in 2003 with first crop in 2006; the young-vine production has been going into our Sonoma Coast appellation bottling. At seven years of age the vines were old enough to make a wine of sufficient density and concentration to merit singling out. Planted to the Wente selection collected from one of our Hyde Vineyard blocks, the rows are densely planted (3' and 4' by 6') on low-vigor rootstock (420A). Located five miles from the Pacific off Bodega Highway, midway between Sebastopol and Bodega Bay, the vineyard sits at 800' on a south-facing slope overlooking the Estero Americano (which funnels cooling marine weather to the Sacramento delta via the Petaluma Gap). This Chardonnay ripens two weeks later than our Russian River Chardonnays, with a lower pH, and the crisp acidity and minerality from this cool site are quite apparent in the wine..

Cabernet Sauvignon S.l.v. Napa Valley Estate 2011 750ml

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Stags Leap District appellation. Dramatic improvements are clearly underway at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, which was sold to a consortium led by Tuscany's Piero Antinori in 2007. Antinori brought in well-known consultant Renzo Cotarella to improve the quality and, hopefully, get this winery back to the lofty heights it achieved in the seventies and early eighties. They seem to be well on their way, which is good news for consumers. This is a large estate of 104 acres, all situated as one giant block of vineyards in the southern part of the Stags Leap appellation. The change in ownership and winemaking staff shows progressive improvement with each vintage starting with 2007. The 2009s look to be their best wines to date. As for the 2007 reds, normally four cuvees are produced, all based on Cabernet Sauvignon, including the Cask 23, which comes from the best lots from the Fay and S.L.V. estate vineyards after fermentations are completed. The most impressive Stag's Leap Wine Cellars' offerings made since the 1985 vintage are the three 2009s I was permitted to taste from barrel. CABERNET SAUVIGNON Wine California Still Wine

Chateau Tour Blanche Medoc Bernard Magrez Wine 2003 750ml

Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirit :This château, classified as a Cru Bourgeois, just one level beneath the Cru Classé, produced a succulent lovely wine in 2003. Despite its ripe flavors, as expected from that very warm year in Bordeaux, and remarkable suppleness, it's still readily identifiable as coming from the Médoc. The grapes from each plot are picked separately then sorted on a specially-equipped table which separates full berries from crushed ones. They are kept in thermoregulated stainless steel vats .Cool pre-fermentation maceration for 2 days. The wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.

Rock Wall Zinfandel Rockpile Road Westphall Ridge Vineyard 2011 750ml

While Rockpile is one of the newest AVAs in California, receiving status April 29th, 2002, the area has been referred to as Rockpile since the 1850's. Located in Northern Sonoma County, at the northwest corner of Dry Creek Valley, the Rockpile AVA encompasses nearly 15,000 acres, of which less than 160 are planted to vineyard. This makes Rockpile one of the smallest AVAs in the United States in terms of acreage planted.Westphall Ridge is the name of our Rockpile Vineyard and it is farmed by Bob Gloekner and the Mauritson Family, who have been taking care of Rockpile viticulture since it's inception. These vines live in a granitic loam soil with blue clay and a perfect view of Lake Sonoma. ZINFANDEL Wine California Still Wine
