A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. NV NV Opus One Overture Proprietary Blend 750ml
This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. With the release of the 1974 Insignia in the spring of 1978, Joseph Phelps Vineyards became the first California winery to produce a blend of the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties of Bordeaux under a proprietary label. Considered innovative at the time, the Insignia name was selected to represent the finest available production in each vintage year, and became the first proprietary wine of California to place blending above either varietal or vineyard designation as a determinant of quality. It would not be followed until a decade later by the second such wine, Opus One, and Insignia has remained the benchmark of this category for over a quarter century.Insignia is an opulent wine of concentration, complexity and structure, with a superb balance of finely tuned acidity and dense, velvety tannins. Cassis, liquorice and spice are abundant on the palate, with notes of eucalyptus and earth. The finish is sweet, elegant and extended.. A gorgeously intense bouquet of lead pencil shavings, spring flowers, black currants, blackberries, and subtle smoke and foresty aromas jumps from the glass of this full-bodied, rich, concentrated wine with soft tannins, a multidimensional mouthfeel, and a long, rich finish displaying well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. This beauty is one of the top Insignias produced over recent years. It should age easily for 20+ years. The stunning 2010 Insignia, which is now in bottle, was made from 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and the rest Merlot and Malbec, 11,060 cases were produced, and it achieved 14.9% natural alcohol. All of the fruit came from estate vineyards. BORDEAUX BLEND Wine CALIFORNIA STILL WINE

This wine is from Italy, Piedmont region, Barbera D'alba sub-region. The history of the Vietti winery traces its roots back to the 19th Century. The estate, which has been in the Vietti family for four generations, is based in the village of Castiglione Falletto in Piedmont’s Langhe region. In 1919 Mario Vietti transformed the family’s farm into a grape growing and wine producing business, creating the first Vietti labeled wines. Alfredo Currado married Mario’s daughter Luciana and made a name for Vietti’s single-vineyard Barolo and Barbera. He also put the native Piedmont varietal Arneis on the wine map. In 1990 Alfredo and Luciana’s son Luca joined the family business as winemaker after working at California’s Simi Winery, Opus One, Long Vineyards and Bordeaux’s Mouton-Rothschild. His innovative winemaking utilizes a unique combination of modern and traditional practices. He eliminated equipment that measures acid and tannin levels in favor of a more intuitive approach. Vietti organically farms more than 25 single vineyards with vines up to 90 years of age.. The 90+ year old vines were planted in a southeast exposition on a 2.5 acre parcel. The fruit was cold macerated and then fermented for 10 days in steel vats with pneumo-mechanical breaking up of the cap followed by racking and return. The wine remained on its skins for seven days, was transferred to barrel for eight months for its malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for 10 months in oak casks and bottled unfiltered.. This full-bodied wine offers refreshing acidity that is well integrated with rich and soft tannins. The long finish shows wonderful complexity and finesse. BARBERA Wine Italian Still Wine

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. The 2005 ZD Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon represents another example of our commitment to producing powerful cabernets that also exhibit an elegant balance and distinctive style. With ZDs organically farmed Rutherford Estate as the core, this wine is a blend from several small low yielding hillside vineyards in the Napa Valley. Each vineyard lot was fermented and aged separately for one year before blending. The final reserve blend was then returned to barrel for an additional two years of rest in American Oak barrels. Savoring the intense aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis and plum, and subtle notes of clove, anise and sweet vanilla is an absolute joy. Deep, ripe black fruit is enveloped in soft, velvety tannins that carry extraordinary fruit flavors through to a long, seductive finish. This wine is drinking great right now but will age beautifully for many years to come. Only 800 cases produced! Enjoy!-Chris Pisani, Winemaker CABERNET SAUVIGNON Wine CALIFORNIA STILL WINE

A beautiful pale yellow, clear with hints of green and a lively mousse. Aromas of white fruits - lemon, white peach, pear and grapefruit - give way to hints of pineapple and fresh spring flowers. This is followed by richer aromas of nuts, marzipan and sweet spice. Delicate, yet generous. attack is lively, with a marked minerality that feels both elegant yet rounded. This wine is from United States, California region, Sonoma County sub-region and Sonoma Coast appellation. A new vineyard designation for us, Platt was planted in 2003 with first crop in 2006; the young-vine production has been going into our Sonoma Coast appellation bottling. At seven years of age the vines were old enough to make a wine of sufficient density and concentration to merit singling out. Planted to the Wente selection collected from one of our Hyde Vineyard blocks, the rows are densely planted (3' and 4' by 6') on low-vigor rootstock (420A). Located five miles from the Pacific off Bodega Highway, midway between Sebastopol and Bodega Bay, the vineyard sits at 800' on a south-facing slope overlooking the Estero Americano (which funnels cooling marine weather to the Sacramento delta via the Petaluma Gap). This Chardonnay ripens two weeks later than our Russian River Chardonnays, with a lower pH, and the crisp acidity and minerality from this cool site are quite apparent in the wine..

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. Cardinale is more than one wine-it is several wines, wines from disparate places along the Mayacamas and Vaca mountains that surround Napa Valley. Every bottle reveals the artistic sensibility of the winemaker, each vineyard lot fused into a seamless blend in which you can sense the constituent parts, but still taste them as one wine. Our philosophy is guided by the pursuit of grape selectivity in the vineyard, gentle handling and the ability to accommodate the different winemaking needs of each vintage..
