In making Beringer's White Zinfandel, the focus is to highlight the fresh red berry, citrus and melon aromas and flavors, and round them out with subtle hints of nutmeg and clove. The wine has a youthful exuberance that is enjoyable as a sipper on its own, or with a variety of dishes.
We co-fermented Zinfandel with a touch of Petite Sirah to add complexity and structure, and then aged wine in large oak casks so flavors are well integrated but not overwhelmed by oak. This food-friendly Zinfandel's flavors of strawberries, red plums, orange zest, and a hint of white pepper make it perfect match for grilled meats, lasagna, pizza topped with tomato sauce, and beef stews.
This wine is from United States, California region, Lake County sub-region and Red Hills appellation. The Red Hills appellation of Lake County is prime Zinfandel country, and there's no better site for it than Snow's Lake Vineyard, whose 2,000-foot-plus elevation make it a unique growing site in Lake County. We have three distinctive clones of Zinfandel planted at Snow's Lake, including heritage selections from Mendocino and Amador counties and a Primitivo clone. The vines are rooted in magnificent, red volcanic soils and enjoy a perfect southwestern exposure. Warm sunny days and nights cooled by breezes from nearby Clear Lake provide ideal conditions for California's heritage grape variety.. This wine showcases bright raspberry, black cherry and dark plum aromas complemented by intriguing dusty earth, black pepper and milk chocolate scents. The rich and lively palate delivers pure, deeply concentrated black raspberry, dark cherry and blackberry flavors streaked with mineral and briary spice tones. Beautifully structured with sturdy, but supple tannins, fresh acidity and a long, rich, chocolate-y finish, this is delightful to drink now, but will surely repay another 3-5 years of cellaring. This wine is from United States, California region, Sonoma County sub-region. Located on the southwest side of the Mayacamas mountain range, near the town of Agua Caliente, vineyard elevations range from 700 to 1,240 feet. The name Monte Rosso means ‘red mountain', which is quite apparent if you look at the color of the ground soil, it is truly red. Several blocks of old-vine Zinfandel planted as early as 1890, are still bearing. Now owned by Gallo, this prestigious vineyard is sought after by many, but only garnered by a few lucky folks. Our block in the beautiful Monte Rosso Vineyard has 108-year-oldvines and is located about 1600 feet above Sonoma Valley on Moon Mountain. One of biggest and darkest wines made at Dashe Cellars, Todd Brothers Ranch Zinfandel comes from a stellar old vine vineyard located in Geyserville in Alexander Valley. These old vines, planted over 50 years ago, consistently pump out some of our best and most long-lived Zinfandel bottlings. difficult growing conditions of these steep red rock slopes make vines struggle to produce a small quantity of grapes, resulting in a zinfandel that is almost Cabernet-like in intensity and structure. Truly a steak-house wine - drink it with heart meals! Wine Enthusiast rating: 90.

Round on the palate with soft tannins, this year’s rendition of Pennino Zinfandel is fresh and aromatic. Beautiful notes of red and black berries mingle with sweet baking spices of vanilla, clove and cinnamon. Sweet, jammy fruit character and nuances of raspberries, red plums, and blackberries create a luscious flavor array. This year’s Pennino is more restrained than vintages past, but the wine demonstrates power, complexity and a fragrant finish without any one flavor being too overwhelming.
