SH51 SPD Cleats

These are the cleats that come with your Shimano SPD Pedals. The SH-51 Cleats are black and have four degrees of float for your feet. Compared to the SH-56 Multi-Release Cleats, these are much more secure and are generally preferred for the experienced rider. To get out of your pedal, you'll have to swing your heel out a bit more than the SH-56 Cleats. Please Note: These will not work with older PD-M858 pedals (for those you'll need SH-52 Cleats). On that same note, if you have an aftermarket SPD-style pedal that isn't a Shimano branded pedal, these cleats are most likely not compatible with your pedals even though they might look remarkably similar to a Shimano pedal.

Ultegra PD-6800 SPD-SL Pedals

Unless you've been meditating in a cave for the past couple of years, you've most likely caught wind that Shimano created a carbon fiber Ultegra pedal. Yes, the PD-6700 carbon pedals were 60 grams lighter than their aluminum counterparts, and they were moving closer and closer to resembling a discounted Dura-Ace iteration. Needless to say, they were widely celebrated. For this reason, Shimano opted to utilize the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' strategy for the new Ultegra PD-6800 SPD-SL Pedals. Even while these come within 35 grams (per pair) of the Dura-Ace 9000 pedals, Shimano has ensured that the pedals still deliver the same blissful retention and instant release that we've grown accustomed to from SPD-SL pedals. In fact, the retention mechanism hasn't changed at all. The retention setting is still adjustable by wrench from the aft portion of the pedal. As for the carbon pedal body, the 6800 design differs from 9000 through its use of short carbon fibers instead of Dura-Ace's long carbon fibers. Essentially, this is where the extra weight comes from. Additionally, the carbon has been molded with a machined aluminum sleeve that houses the two bearings in each pedal. The whole assembly spins on a stainless steel spindle, and the new pedals retain the replaceable stainless steel wear plate that sits atop the pedal body. Additionally, it supports the SPD-SL cleat for maximum lateral stability, while allowing a hard surface for your cleat to float against -- +/- three degrees. The Shimano Ultegra PD-6800 SPD-SL Pedals come with a set of SM-SH11 floating cleats (the ones with the Yellow wear tabs) and all of the necessary mounting hardware. The float is three degrees in either direction. The stack height is 13. 7mm. And as always, the retention preload is adjustable to allow you to dial in the perfect entry and release tension.

Dura-Ace PD-9000 +4mm SPD SL Pedals

As carbon fiber has worked its way beyond frames and into components, we've seen Shimano's Dura-Ace slowly assimilate. But, unlike other manufacturers that have gone "all-out," making every piece from carbon weave, Shimano uses it where it sees direct benefit, and not just visual appeal. Such is the case with the Dura-Ace PD-9000 +4mm SL Pedals. The Shimano 9000 pedals feature a wide carbon platform and fit positioning adjustability. In order to achieve this, the pedal is paired with the SM-SH12 cleats. This creates a large area for power transfer, and therefore less energy is lost between your foot and the pedal. And as we're sure you know, every watt counts. Additionally, this +4mm version means that this pedal includes a longer spindle, by 4mm, for those riders who prefer an increased Q-factor. And while the aforementioned contributes to increased pedal efficiency, Shimano has gone to immense lengths to redesign the definition of comfort with the 9000 pedals. The principles of the cleat retention system are centered on a front/center pivoting system. And within this new design, the SM-SH12 cleat plays a pivotal role. This is because the interaction between the cleat and pedal limits toe movement and lateral play by restricting float to +/- one degree. So, the system basically corrects your bad habits before they happen. Together, this will minimize knee strain, hot spots, and contribute to absolute efficiency. However, we advise you not to be intimidated by the shortened degree of float, as this is not to be confused with the strength of cleat retention, only the degree of lateral movement. But, on that note, Shimano did keep one of our favorite features of Dura-Ace pedals, the spring-loaded tension adjustment. This feature is accessible at the rear of the pedal. For durability, you'll find that the pedals continue with the usage of a stainless steel top plate. The Shimano Dura-Ace PD-9000 +4mm SPD SL Pedals are available in the color Black and in one size...

SM-MA90 Disc Brake Adapter

With the SM-MA90 Disc Brake Adapter, Shimano has taken an artful leap at the lowly disc brake adapter.
