don't get too excited about this product. it doesn't even come close to Barska optics, etc. black color only and focus is mechanical, not powered, so u may have trouble getting the thing to focus and stay put. the focus mechanism moves too fast even with holding the thing the way they recommend - using four fingers. i opened it up and saw the cheap prism glued in and the two pins that hold the focus mechanism. u don't want to put any strain on the mechanism and snap off a plastic pin, etc.

This is a great product - bright & clear & easy to focus. I bought it without knowing much about monoculars and am pleasantly surprised. It's a bit larger than I expected - about the size of a clenched fist. But mine was all black instead of the pictured white/black and very handsome. Looks very well made & sturdy. Image is a bit shakey due to one-handed operation, but you can always support it with your second hand.

My two sons are archers in the Junior Olympic Archery Development program. I purchased this monocular to allow me to see the target grouping of the arrows down range. Typically, the distance is about 80 feet. This monocular gives me a clear view from that distance and enables me to score each end. The focuser is operated with two fingers and is very accurate. It makes it easy to share with others and quicky refocus. Great piece of equipment. Highly recommended.

This lens may well become one of the most legendary of the Limiteds manufactured by Pentax and perhaps even rival the output capabilities of the FA Limiteds. This lens is superiorly contructed of metal and solidly built in such a small package. Image resolution is superb, with excellent contrast, edge to edge sharpness, brilliant colors and beautiful color saturation. AF on the K20D is quite fast considering the lens is a macro with a long barrel throw and accurately focuses without FF/BF. This lens will find its versatily in close focusing as well as general 35mm FOV imaging (52.5mm on DSLR). The optical design makes for exceptional bokeh whether using it in macro mode or simply wide aperture general photography. The lens also makes a great copy lens for document copy of flat materials and printed matter. The lens comes with a built in lens hood that works well and will be of benefit in contra lighting situations. 1:1 macro imaging utilizing the onboard camera flash is not possible (well the image is compromised) due to its low angle. Shadows will be caused by the lens when used this way. However, somewhere between 1:1 and 1:2 the lens works well with the onboard flash. Shoe mounted flashes or off camera flashes do not present any problems with illumination at 1:1 magnification. I believe that time will show that this is one of the best lenses Pentax ever made. It is simply a pleasure to use and joy to see the output this is capable of.

Have just begun shooting with it on a K20D. The out-of-focus areas are beautifully smooth and the focusing ring is a fine instrument, pure pleasure to use. Distortion seems to be non-existent. This could make a fine "normal" lens alternative to the 31 Limited, given its smaller size, $300 lower price and macro ability, and possibly the first choice among the Limiteds if you are just starting with the Pentax system.

I bought these to take to Africa on safari. They are incredibly easy to hold steady, focus and produce an image that staggered me in its sharpness. They are so light you almost don't know they are there. I also own a pair of Zeiss 10X50,they are nice but very heavy and I would rather have my Nikon binocs any day. Great product at a great price.

We wanted a small binoculars for occasional use. Nikon pretty much does what it says - compact, good quality. Had it only 2 weeks, so I don't know how it will hold up, but seems well built

This is a small compact binocular with excellent viewing for birding or sporting events. Movement with the Nikon Travelite V 8X25 is not a problem. This is the best pair of binoculars I have used. Amazon was great to purchase from so I recommend them and the product very high.

I own the older version of these so I thought this would be a safe bet to give my bird watching sister for Christmas. When she tried them out she complained of a half moon shaped flare in the lower left corner that comprised about 1/3 of the field of view. This was evident any time the binoculars were pointed within 90 degrees of the sun. My older Nikon binoculars do not exhibit this if pointed in the exact same direction. She tried two copies of these (we paid the shipping cost for both returns to B&H)and I am looking for another comparable set in a different brand.

Unfortunately my comments have to focus more on the ingegrity of the packaging vs the actual product. I purchased these binoculars on-line and were intended as a gift for a colleague. The integrity of the box containing the binoculars arrived torn, scuffed, and appeared to have been used or reflect a possible return. The product itself appeared untouched. The product was shipped from a preferred Amazon distributor and not identified as refurbished on the Amazon site. Since this was a gift, I felt the need to have the box replaced. The distributor no longer had any in stock and I had the choice to return without replacement or keep with a credit for freight. Amazon was not able to provide any recourse other than return for credit as it was shipped from a distributor. I chose not to give this product as a gift, therefore I am not able to comment on the quality. I am debating whether or not to return product or give to a family member.

I will skip the technical mumbo jumbo and focus on the experience of using these binoculars. When I first picked these up, I was surprised and pleased at how light and comfortable they were in my hands. My pleasure remained and my surprise quickly turned to amazement when I brought them to my glasses (Yes, I wear glasses and no, I did not take them off to try them out. I use them with my glasses on - very nice!). WOW! Beautiful color and pristine field of view - from the left of the lenses to the right the of the lenses. I did not know such a wonderful image could be seen through binoculars. Images seen are crystal clear and higher detail than what can be seen with the naked eye (or in my world - through glasses). This is true from the closest focused items to the furthest focused object. (I looked at weeds ~15' away and on the weeds I could see grains of dirt not seen with the unaided eye. Also the weeds were more distinguished than with the unaided eye. I turned to look at some nearby mountains and I clearly saw eagles riding thermals that I could not see without the binoculars). The focus knob is easy to use, they are very easy on the eyes, the price is reasonable, and I even like the color. These would make a fine gift for most any age group and for most user levels. These binoculars are spectacular. WOW!

The 90mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M ASPH is the finest lens you can buy at this focal length. I also own an older second-version 90mm f/2.8 Tele-Elmarit, and found myself always using the bigger, heavier lens for the sparkle and sharpness of its images, especially at f/2. Add a Tri-Elmar 28-35-50mm f/4, and you have the ultimate travel outfit for a Leica M-series camera. The 90mm APO-Summicron is sharp to the corners at any aperture. I find the 90mm focal length a little tight for portraits and parties inside the typical American home. I prefer the 50mm for most of those images. A 90mm also lacks the reach for my sports images, but works well for travel outdoors in less-congested urban settings.

This is without a doubt among the most expensive medium telephoto rangefinder lenses currently being manufactured, but it is certainly well worth acquiring. It is the second fastest telephoto lens in the Leica M rangefinder camera system, but optically may be the best due to Leica's usage of special apochromatic glasses. It is amazingly quite sharp and contrasty, from its maximum aperture of f2. Ergonomically, it is essentially the same size and weight as the previous 90mm f2 Summicron, which is a fine optical performer in its own right, except wide open. If you are a Leica M photographer who likes to photograph under low light conditions or is interested in the finest optical quality possible with a medium telephoto lens, then this is definitely the lens for you. I have owned one for nearly five years and have not been disappointed with its performance. The only lens I have used which comes close optically is the Contax G-Series 90mm f2.8 Sonnar T* lens. In Leica's newly designed Summicron-M lens series, I would rank this lens alongside the 28mm f2 Summicron-M ASPH lens as among Leica's finest recent designs, surpassed only by the new 50mm f1.4 Summilux ASPH and the 75mm f2 APO-Summicron lenses.
