It’s Summertime! There’s no better way to celebrate the warm weather than a vacation. We here at Become have all the things you need to make this year’s vacation the best one yet. Don’t have the funds or vacation days to take a trip to an exotic locale this summer? Don’t worry! We’re here to help you create the perfect “staycation” right at home or in your hometown.

For the frequent vacationer:

No matter where you’re going it’s important you travel in style. It’s never been a better time to upgrade your luggage than now.

Travel in style and in comfort with new gear!

Colorful Suitcase: Try something different and buy a new suitcase in a bright or colorful color such as red, bright blue or perhaps even pink. Not only will this give your luggage an updated and fun look but it will also help make identifying your suitcase easier.

Spinner: If you’re not in the mood to do something bold but are still looking to upgrade, consider a four-wheeled suitcase. Instead of the pulling the standard two-wheeled suitcase through the airport, the four-wheeled suitcase or “spinner” , remains fully upright and is able to be easily pushed. The spinner wheels are able to turn in any direction which gives added mobility.

Weekend Tote: Looking for something smaller? Bring everything you need in a colorful tote or weekender bag.

Portable Dvd player: Taking a family road trip? Consider a portable DVD player to make the time in the car go by faster.

At home staycation ideas:

Can’t get away for a vacation? Make the most of your summer right at home!

Great "Vacation-at-Home" Ideas

• Get out of the heat and cool off! Have a movie marathon with your favorite flicks. Upgrade your entertainment center with a blu-ray player and enjoy watching your favorite movies even more. You can even add surround sound for the ultimate viewing experience.

• Another fun way to enjoy movies this year is to get a projector and project your favorite movie on a blank wall. If it’s a nice night take your projector and some speakers outside and enjoy a flick under the stars.

Backyard party ideas:

Is the weather too nice to stay indoors? With a few additions to your backyard you can transform your yard into a vacation destination.

BBQ Family Fun:

Get fired up with a new grill and have a good old fashioned BBQ with family and friends. It’s hard to go wrong with a classic Weber grill. Weber grills offers a wide range of sizes and types of both gas and charcoal grills ranging from the simple kettle One Touch grill to the deluxe Summit series. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when buying a new grill, here are some things to keep in mind that will help you make a smart shopping decision.

Price: Before looking at grills, figure out how much you can spend without breaking the bank.

Fuel: The choice between charcoal, propane or electric?

Features: Depending on how you see yourself grilling consider what bells and whistles you are looking for in your grill. High number of BTUs? Large grilling surface area? Whatever grill you choose make sure you have all the grilling tools you need such as grill cover, brush & scraper and of course all your essential grilling accessories .

Outdoor Entertaining:

If you plan to entertain friends and family in your backyard make sure you have adequate seating. A nice patio set and comfortable lawn furniture is a must! Here at Become we offer a wide selection of patio furniture to fit your style, need and price. When picking out your new patio furniture here are some things to keep in mind:

Wood: Patio furniture made of teak and cedar are the most durable and do not need to be stored away or protected during the winter months. Another unique feature of wood patio furniture is that it can be dyed to better match your patio area or garden.

Wrought Iron: Wrought Iron patio furniture is one of the most popular types of patio furniture and comes in a variety of styles. The perks include its long lasting, weather resistant and easy to clean. In addition to being particularly durable you can accent and add comfort to wrought iron patio furniture with colorful cushions.

Add finishing touches to your backyard oasis with the right summer décor. Citronella tiki torches are a great decorative touch in addition to repelling insects and keeping the area mosquito free. For a creative way to add lighting to your patio why not have fun with string lights. These days string lights come in a variety of shape and sizes. Tiki torches and string lights are always a great way to light up your patio area. If you’re throwing a themed backyard party such as a luau or Mexican fiesta make sure to decorate with appropriate décor.

Backyard Activities

Don’t want to make a trip to a water park? Create a water wonderland in your backyard that the kids are sure to love. There’s always the backyard classic Slip n’ Slide. If you want to upgrade consider any of the inflatable water slides such as the Banzai Falls Water Slide or the Sea Spray Slide. Both have easy set up and are sure to create plenty of fun in the sun for the little ones (and adults too).

There are plenty of non-water related activities you can play in your backyard. Some great backyard games include Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, Cornhole and the popular Blongo.

At-home worldwide cuisine!

Don’t have the budget to fly around the world and taste the cuisines of the world? Never fear! You can still enjoy the experience of different cultures from around the world in the comfort of your own home. Just roll up your sleeves, spend a little time in the kitchen and your family will be transported to another country!

Creole:

If you are not originally from the South, I can guarantee that you will enjoy the tastes of Creole cuisine. Traditional dishes include gumbo, seafood boils, and jambalaya and are typically made in large quantities so that everyone can enjoy it! The start off, you will need a large stock pot (60 quarts of larger should do) and an outdoor burner. Stews and boils take a whopping 4+ hours to cook so entertain your guests in the meantime with a movie projected outdoors on the side of your house with a video projector. Simply hook it up to your preferred video player or computer and have at it! Celebrate with a little red wine and bluray!

Spanish:

Marked by an abundance of spices and a lush variety of seafood, Spanish cuisine pays homage to its different regions with signature dishes such as seafood paella, calamares a la romana (Italian fried calamari), gazpacho, and more. Because of Spain’s temperate Mediterranean weather, the local cuisine is perfect for a summer get together. Get the party started with a traditional rice dish that is commonly found throughout Spain—paella! Though recipes call for a traditional paelleras, you can substitute it with a large flat cooking pan or wok if you have one handy. Compliment it with a delicious Spanish wine like Cava or Sherry and you’re set to have a culinary adventure.

Peruvian:

Peruvian food is taking the world by storm! Specialty restaurant are opening up in American culinary hot spots such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco bay area. If you are not privy to one, Peruvian cuisine is surprisingly easy to emulate. It is influenced by its rich Incan heritage as well as by Spanish, Basque, African, and Japanese cuisine. Traditional ingredients include various grains such as maize (corn), quinoa, and lots of fish! A great side dish you can prepare is a refreshing Peruvian cerviche. Variations are found throughout Peru, but a staple is lime marinated raw white fish served with sliced raw onions in a small glass cup. Serve this next to a traditional empanada (meat pie) and you’ve got yourself a latin feast!

Korean:

Korean cuisine is unique in that the dishes are cooked very lightly in order to retain its natural nutrients and raw taste. Made of up fresh or preserved ingredient, Korean food has been hailed as incredibly healthy and tasty. If you can find yourself a clay pot, you can master cooking one of Korea's staple dishes-Bi Bim Bap!

There are plenty of mini-adventures you can take without even leaving your neighborhood. Here are some ideas for fun family outings:

• Explore local trails or parks on a family cycling trip.

• Go on a picnic! There’s no better way to enjoy a gorgeous day.

• Learn to fly a kite
