These speakers are very lightweight and much smaller than I thought but the sound that comes out is surprisingly loud even though it doesn't have the base sound to it. It also sounds very good without that tinny sound you sometimes hear.

This speaker could be the best portable speaker I ever used. I have traveled from Japan to Europe through Mid-East, spent 2 years on the way. The music is needed wherever I go and this speaker was my partner on the trip. The sound is incredibly good from the size of the body, and this is so compact to carry. During the travel, I didnt see a lot of trouble of the quality and work so long; doesnt seem to get broken so easily. The sound can be so loud as this has 2w; 2w is really huge output for portable speaker. You will not find any portable speaker as louder as this is. Of course, batteries only last a couple of hours, but that is because this creates a loud sound. Hope this helps you

I am very happy with this product. The sound is quite good for a small unit running on batteries. Even with the sound turned on quite loud, it doesn't distort the sound much at all. Very happy.

This unit has sound that is a pretty close second to the bose system in my book, but about half the price and with many more features. The bose lacks a radio and a clock, which the Logitech has. The logitech has a better (more features and backlit) remote as well. Biggest downside is a large clunky power brick (the bose may have one, too. I'm not sure).

I think this product is best in it's class. The bass is great and the remote works flawlessly. The price is very fair.

We bought the Logitech Pure-Fi Elite for use on our back deck. It had high ratings for sound quality and we are very satisfied with what we have heard. We listen to a wide range of music and listening outdoors we don't expect concert hall sound. Even at low volume levels we have had no complaints. The Pure-Fi Elite works well with both my video iPod and my wife's older classic iPod. The Pure-Fi Elite also had other features we were looking for -- AM/FM radio and a clock. If I had any issues it would be with the remote control which has somewhat limited range, perhaps 8 feet, and requires direct line of sight to the unit. While the remote has only basic features for controlling the iPods, these features are sufficient for our use. This is not meant to be a portable unit and the weight of the base unit is an indication of its quality construction. But we do need to move it inside when we are not using it. The base unit itself is okay, but the A/C power adapter is very large, about 1/2 the size of a brick and every bit as heavy. The included power cords from the base unit to the adapater and from the adapter to the outlet are long. Also, in order to pick up any AM reception for baseball games (Go Cubs Go), we have to use the included external 'hoop' antenna. Without it we can't pick up even strong local stations. With the antenna, the reception is fine, but it is one more thing to carry and the long antenna wire can get tangled with the power cords. All in all, we are very satisfied with our purchase. Sound quality is the most important feature and we are completely satisfied there.

It would get a 5 star but it needs more bass. That being said I really like bass in my music. The mids and highs are great, and you can you can hear the bass it's just not very low sounding. You should remember that this is a small portable speaker though and is amazing for its size. I have 5 of them hooked up to a belkin splitter for camping, one of these will get really loud five will hurt your ears.

My daughter needed a I-Pod speaker for the beach and after reading the reviews we ordered one... Man, Let me tell you the sound this little thing produces is great.. You can not crank it but normal listening all I can say is Wow... We will be buying another for my I-Pod too...

It is a nice little speaker but our hope was to use it to listen to audio books in the car. It does not have quite enough power. With the MP3 player turned up to full volume, you can just barely hear it without straining even in a new car in ideal road conditions. I do use it on the deck to listen to books and it works great there. The mono speaker makes for poor music quality but that was expected.

I ordered this because I wanted truly portable speakers, ie something compact enough to thrown in an overnight bag, with a remote, that would work with the iPod Touch and the option to run off batteries. I'm not interested in the alarm feature which seems to be the main complaint from other reviewers here. On the plus side, the device does work with the Touch, and the remote navigates the Touch's menus ok (unlike e.g. the Logitech Pure-Fi device), with only one problem, it can't get past the "thumb-swipe" screen. It does however have an off/on button that gets round this, lest you might have to actually leave the sofa! However, the sound quality is just so awful that I returned it. It's not so much that it's tinny as somehow it just sounds horrible, it is by far the worst sound quality of any of the portables that I've tried so far, including my old $10 "Cube Travel Speakers" Bottom line - avoid this product.

Yes, it's true, this alarm will blast you out of the room. However, there is a workaround. If you want to wake to something on your ipod, you can leave the unit on (if it is plugged in with the AC adapter), set the volume where you want it and then set the alarm on your ipod and place it back onto the unit. (If you use your ipod controls to turn off the ipod and don't touch the unit, the unit will stay on and simply play again once the ipod comes on.) I think the best thing about this unit is the remote. It is fully-featured.
