Dogs aren’t exactly the cleanest animals and your dog would probably prefer to be much dirtier than you would like him to be.  If you have ever tried to give a dog a bath before, you know that it can be a lot of work, especially if your dog is a larger breed.  You may have thought about giving up on washing your dog yourself and just taking him to the groomer, but those costs can add up quickly.   Having the right tools can make washing your dog a lot more simple and, believe it or not, more enjoyable.

An water jet spray is a convenient tool that will make rinsing your dog easier.  You can attach the hose to any water source, such as a sink or a garden hose.  The water will come out of a sprayer which will provide a gentle, yet strong stream to make your dog comfortable and clean.

A dog bathing tether is one of the most useful tools to make washing your dog easier.  A dog bathing tether is a set of straps that attach to your dog’s collar and have suction cups at the other end that attach to your tub.  These keep your dog in the tub so that he can’t escape from his dreaded bath time.

Although having a clean dog is the most important part of giving your dog a bath, having your dog smell good is a great perk!  A medicated dog shampoo is important when giving your dog a bath.  Medicated dog shampoo will kill bacteria and fungi that could cause skin infections.  Make sure to use a dog shampoo and not a human shampoo because many human shampoos can cause allergic reactions to dogs.  Also, there is a wide variety of dog colognes and perfumes which can keep your dog smelling great in between baths.

The last thing you will need to finish your dog’s bath is a microfiber pet towel.  Dogs usually love to shake excess water out of their fur which makes a mess for you to clean up after.  Even after you dry your dog with a regular towel, your bathroom gets soaked.  With a microfiber pet towel, your dog will dry much quicker than normal as the microfiber material is much more absorbent.
